The location is perfect. It is located in the center of the old Quebec and is normally 5 minutes walking to everything. I like the stylish and cozy decoration of the hotel sitting room and dinning room. Also, the microwave in the dinning room allowed me to eat some supermarket food which saved me some budget for shopping. My little single room (No.27) is tiny but cute - I like it. Also, the hotel provide free 2-hour bike renting which I found great (although I did not have the confidence to try.
all reviews » - Perfect ocation in the Old Town close to Chateau Frontenac, 20 mins walk from the train station - Room was warm enough at -26'C outside - Good WiFi reception in the room; - Was offered a free upgrade to a bigger room; - Can see the castle from the backyard-overlooking rooms; - Nice and comfortable public area downstairs. We liked everything about the hotel: location, cleanliness, quietness (our rooms faced the enclosed inner garden). We were even able to park on the street FREE overnight. Voucher for a 20% discount in a nearby restaurant for breakfast. Perfect. The location was fantastic! The staff at the desk were superb. We had originally booked 1 night, and we added a 2nd, no problem.(Lucky us!) The garden was a wonderful place to sit and ponder our wonderful stay. We enjoyed all the venues we visited and also, of course, the food at the various restaurants. Thanks as well for our 20% discount for our breakfasts at PAIN BENI. A nice and friendly place and good choices. The room was cosy, warm and comfortable. The staff very warm and kind. they are extremely helpful and care for the guests. Taking the car to an indoor garage was a bit of a hassle and probably expensive (our son paid so I do not know how much it cost). We enjoyed all of our time there. We liked everything, but the walking (going up and down the hills and stairs) for seventy-yr olds gave us the most difficulties. The funiculaire was a god-send. Nevertheless, we saw all the venues that we had originally planned to see. everything perfect!. Room was small & not very soundproof from room above us. Air conditioning not up to the unusual task of cooling a hot room (it is usually never needed in Quebec in the summer!). Climb to top floor is challenging for the less hardy. The rooms were not well designed , the desk was facing the wall The small multipurpose room was not well equipped, no coffee, nor enough information on the area. On the smaller side. Noisey wedding reception on Saturday night, but it finished at a reasonable hour. I did not enjoy the extremely narrow hallways, or that the water pipes squeaked. The walls were a little thin and it could use better parking options. staffed bar for coffee and drinks would have been welcome. could have had free coffee/tea making. no elevator. I would suggest that you wash the front windows and entry door. Also the steps leading into the hotel. The stairs were very narrow. The room was extremely small. The bed was not the best. Both of us woke up with a backache. Size of bedroom is a little small. lack of tea making facilities and reception staff available in the hotel. Ceiling light (both bulbs) burned out, notified staff Friday am, not repaired when we checked out Tuesday. You need more mirrors and thkcker towels in the Roooms. overpriced for type of room. The building is quite old, so you have to expect: No elevator, small staircase, old forniture. The front desk is not in the building, it is shared with the hotel in the building next door. Room very small and hallway not clean. There are no staff. The pictures on the booking platform do not in the least show the reality. The house is rather old and a bit shabby, there are no flower gardens anywhere, it is on a quiet road and gardens that might have been there years and years ago should not be on a picture presenting the hotel. We expected a normal hotel, not a rather old place with steep staircase. no elevator etc. shall not recommend it. The champlain hotel next door was probably what we saw in the pictures you offer .... ?. Lack of garden but shown on website - this was a dump of rubbish and inaccessible. the entrance steps with the outward door are lethal and hard to go on. Rooms very small. No staff at hotel. Staff at associate hotel not very friendly or helpful. Hotel run down, stained carpets etc. needs a lot of work. it was poorly renovated. too many stairs; there was no breakfast in house. we had a leak in the ceiling. i did not like the fact that i had to walk in with dirty boots and it made the floor a mess. i had to remove my boots outside my room. it was just so uncomfortable. dingy, worn down without amenities or charm.
