The whole family loved the waterslide. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for a hotel room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was good but there is no protein provided. We had brought a bag of pre-cooked bacon and would heat it in the microwave each morning. We had a few curious looks from other guests wondering where the bacon came from. The in-room bar fridges have a small freezer which came in handy.
all reviews » The hotel was great - not too fancy but clean and tidy - nice breakfast in the morning and kids had fun on the waterslide - the price was great and allows you to stay again - we will rebook for July! And passed booking information on to our friends and family to stay in July as well! Nice that it is pet freindly although we didnt bring ours it helps a lot of people travelling. The staff (Joan) was very helpful and friendly!. The older children really enjoyed the pool and slide area. Parents had time to relax while the adult children were playing. We could explore on the river behind the hotel and trails from our hotel led into town. I was stranded in fernie with my husband and elderly parents. The staff were exceptional at the front desk and restaurant. Their support and service were greatly appreciated. Loved the waterslide. Loved that I controlled the temperature of the room. Loved the relaxed, accommodating staff. Super-loved the ski shop / tune-up clinic on the premises. Location, views from balcony, room arrangements for bigger families, water slides and hot tub, East Indian restaurant, free breakfast and room amenities. The water slide and large pool were excellent for the family. Rooms were large, clean and up to date. Timber frame was beautiful. Close to river. Close to family in town. Price was right for 2 queen beds. Pleasant staff. Indian food in restaurant was yummy. Family room is great. Has a loft and 2 beds on main floor. Clean, roomy, and not a bad price for a ski town, also has a balcony. Great facility! Very comfortable. Our room was away from the highway, it looked out on the Elk River. The resort was clean and the staff friendly. We are looking forward to returing for a longer stay. The kids loved the waterslide, good restaurant onsite. Family rooms are a great set-up. The waterslide was a big hit with the kids, although i found the stairs leading to it as a parent terrifying to watch my children navigate, although I was assured by the front desk that although they did not have any grip strips on them that they were painted with special paint and passed safety standards. The front desk people were very nice and friendly and even accomadated me when I realized I had left my iphone charger at home. Thumbs up!. We picked this hotel for the location as we were meeting three other family members. We have stayed before and children loved the pool with waterslides and hot tubs. I know it's not a common feature for hotel rooms but would have liked to have a microwave in the room to accompany the large bar fridge/freezer provided. This sounds silly but the only thing I didnt like was the pillows - they were not very comfortable. Wished there was some yogourt or something non-starchy for breakfast. Wished the hot tub was closer to / accessible to the pool. Wished the rooms were a little bigger. Breakfast hall is small and only one station to get breakfast. Sometimes there is a bug lineup. Would suggest having two breakfast serving stations and a bigger hall. Steps and railing could be painted in the pool area. A little too far to walk into downtown Fernie. Breakfast was lame. Room clean up lacked garbage disposal in Bathroom. Cracked tiles and grubby floor in bathroom, also. the rooms are a little bit dated, but well kept. Nothing. No parking plug-ins, it was -25 when we were there. Beds were too hard for me but other than that it was EXCELLENT!. There is always one of the two hot-tubs out of commission. The restaurant is frequently under-staffed. Restaurant was closed Monday. Our room had been designed as a wheel chair accessible room, but then changed to a regular room. This caused a few hiccups, the shower had no head, only a hand wand that was not mounted to the top of the shower and the sink was way out of the bathroom. The free breakfast was fine but the prep area poorly organized. First, move breads and toaster to end of line to prevent bottlenecks. Second, extend stations across larger counter. Overall, however, a pleasant seating area with lots of light. Carpets a little dated since our stay well over ten years ago, though. Restaurant closed Parts of the hotel were hot parts were really cold. The room was fine. bed comfort was poor, terrible blankets - no duvets, room is basic, only one hot tub was in operation, street view room was very noisy. watching cars drive by as we are trying to relax in the hot tub. Air conditioning in the hall was poor. Breakfast is marginal. The carpet in the room could use replacing. It was dingy and yuck. Otherwise, the room itself was very charming. The mircowave in the breakfest area needs to be cleaned. Big time. I was afraid to warm a bottle in it. Room wasnt well cleaned Mold in other groups fridge, found hair ties and lots of dust in room. Hotel needs up keep new paint and general repairs are greatly needed. The fan in our room was unbalanced and the air conditioner was not placed well to accomodate the upper suite. The elevator was sticking on second floor as you took off(reported to front desk). The slide need to have the joints tightened. Only one hot tub was in operation. I felt that for what I got I should have payed about $50.00 less. The bed were not the most comfortable. The hotel needed up keep. Dirty room, where we found a random dirty sock and hat by the drapes. Patio door was unlocked when we arrived. Clock was unplugged and not working. Heater is ancient that did not work well. You could not choose desired temperature. Pretty disappointed for the price. The soap dispensers in the bathrooms, got soap everywhere. The restaurant. Having to go thru the basement to get to the hot tub - which is back upstairs outside. Breakfast was limited Toasters not working Pool closed at 10pm. Hard beds, bad coffee. your cleaning crew needs to expand there area . Breakfast was mederoker at best.
