The accommodations consisted of a kitchen, washer, dryer, living room, bathroom and bedroom. It was spacious, clean and bathroom/laundry items were provided. The availability of a washer and dryer was a great amenity to have since we packed light and were doing a lot of hiking. The manager was also very nice and helpful with information. We loved everything about The House Next Door - even the stiff gale blowing outdoors! Magnificent location overlooking the ocean, lovely comfortable accommodation and a most obliging and friendly host. Conveniently located for walks in Cape Breton NP. Would love to return for a longer stay.
all reviews » Everything provided that you could possibly need for a stay. Wonderfully efficient washer/dryer. Lots of space and very helpful owner. Very convenient for supermarket and exploring the Cabot Trail. Wished we could have fitted in at least one extra night on our tour. Beautifully renovated "apartment", centrally located in Cheticamp with beautiful water view. Beautiful rooms and bathroom, comfortable beds, limited but functional kitchen supplies (we stayed in front unit that does not have kitchen). Would highly recommend this!. Very clean. New decor. Plenty of towels and linens. TV/Cable/Wi-Fi all good and in working order. Nice host. Beds ok. Thanks!. All facilities you could possibly need for an extended stay. The only complain we had was that it was very quiet. At night you could hear sounds easily (ie. Window blowing, cars driving by, the other room - as the house is split for two guest reservations). Possibility of noisy people in the unit upstairs, but in fact we did not experience any problems in this regard. 1. Really wish they would have put in a kitchenette downstairs. 2. Put in 2 doubles in the 2nd bedroom, rather than 1 queen. Will accomodate more guests, children, etc. 3. Because there are 2 queen beds + pull out sofa, it seems totally unjust to charge more for each person over 2. 4. Bottled water in fridge as no sink dwnstairs?. It didn't have a kitchen - just a microwave and mini fridge. I missed having a toaster but my fault, I didn't read the ad properly. There was no access from the suite to the front veranda. We only had a back door entrance and exit. would be nice to have been able to sit out on the veranda in the evening and take in the view. Nothing really though we were surprised on 2 counts.No breakfast and we had to pay in cash.If the owner takes care of these 2 issues, it will help many travellers. no tv in bedroom. This is truly a house next door, run by daughter next door without mother's approval. It's divided in two, so more than one group may be there (a little freaky if you're downstairs and don't know this). Requires cash, a surprise but not a big problem for us. If it's not summer, there's lots of other places to stay.
