Check-in was efficient. The suite is large, and has a large separate bedroom which was perfect to put our daughter to bed in our travel cot, and then we could still watch tv in the sitting room. The suite is very nicely furnished with quality toilettries. We had dinner downstairs in the restaurant which was convenient - the ribs and spinach salad was good, and the nova scotian wine was surprisingly drinkable. We went to Evangeline's for breakfast just a few minutes down the road which was also .
all reviews » The suite I booked was specifically designed for wheelchair accessibility. They did an excellent job with the design! While many accommodations bill themselves as accessible, this is not always the case. Bay Winds is by far the best I've stayed in yet. Staff were very accommodating and my stay was fabulous!. amazing aspect overlooking the harbour which was beautiful. Very clean and comfortable room / suite. spacious. Only stayed one night but would have liked to stay longer. Had a lovely dinner in the restaurant. Very friendly staff. What a great place, right on the seaside, but in town. It is very clean & relaxing after a long day of travel. We (6) had a great meal along with fiddle music at the Overboard? up the hill. Good location, friendly and accommodating staff. The bathroom was off of the bedroom. We put our daughter to bed early in our travel cot and had to sneak through the bedroom to use the washroom. The ramp leading from the parking area to the lower level to access the suite is quite steep. It was very difficult to push myself up the ramp. nothing. Hàving to leave. The hotel was great and the area was bliss. Some small fittings (curtain tie-backs) were coming out of the wall, which was a shame given the quality of the room overall. Poor directions to room. No real reception desk. No elevator. The AC unit had to be on full blast to make any difference at all in the bedroom, but it froze out the person on the pullout couch. the pull-out couch is not a real bed, the quality was mediocre. No tea in my room. No one could bring me tea before 10am. The pull out bed was not ready and I had to insist so that they would make it for us. Room door was hard to open, air cond. in the bedroom,. Found it difficult to check out before 10am. liked it all. No Breakfast. loved everything. price. I felt a little out of touch with the tourist attractions. Not much offered by the hotel in the way of things to do in the area. I feel we missed out on hiking skyline trail because no one told us about it until after we left the area. Breakfast not available. Staff walk in without knocking. No information notebook in room. This is not a suites hotel. It is 4 small apartments above a restaurant. You actually check in at the restaurant. Not a great place to stay. No hotel staff. And the restaurant is not even open for breakfast or coffee. Had dinner in the restaurant. Not the best meals. We needed to use the sofa bed and it was horrible to sleep on. The sheets were threadbare and the blanket ripped. The bed in the bedroom was ok. Would not go back. Confortable for two but not well equipped to welcome extra people as stated on room description. Food quality very average. Had a dirty pillow cover in my bed!. Waiting outside in minus temperatures for check-in staff to arrive at the Hotel to "Greet Us" !!!!.
