The house is absolutely lovely and we were exceptionally well looked after by the staff, with a really nice breakfast every morning. It's in a great location for Charlottetown with attractions within a few minutes walk. The house is clean, well maintained and welcoming. Melanie, our host was very friendly and helpful. She also prepared the best breakfasts! The Hillhurst Inn is a beautiful, clean, well-kept heritage house in a very good location for walking to the Waterfront and downtown Charlottetown. We hope we can return one day!.

Staff & Breakfast. Location historical. One or two changes would make this a perfect choice - maybe upgrade the TVs in some of the rooms (a small flat screen TV doesn't cost much these days). Check the showers and replace the head if it isn't working properly. A beautiful nineteenth century house with modern upgrades but one of our rooms circuits was unable to handle moderate load (bathroom light/fan and hair dryer popped the breaker). Secondly, first morning's breakfast would likely have been inadequate for a moderately heartier appetite. Our first 2 nights were in the one room that doesn't have an adjoining bath room. It wasn't a big deal as you could lock it when you were in it but it would have been nice if the room key locked the bathroom door while you weren't in it. There was nothing keeping people out while you weren't using it so we did not feel comfortable leaving our stuff in there. We had no issues with our stay. Bathroom small, yet functional. Limited parking. Thought it was a bit expensive as the décor needs updating. No staff on site to welcome or direct us to our rooms. Phone number to call in case of questions or room issues was not answered. Poor accessibility for aged travellers. We were never introduced to the owner. No access to after breakfast coffee or newspapers.
