Very friendly and helpful staff.They all went the extra mile to make sure everything was just what we wanted it to be. Very professional, very kind. This lovely hotel is furnished with antiques, has a good breakfast and lovely gardens. This is a beautiful, quaint hotel within walking distance of shops, restaurants, the waterfront and historical sites. I give the Great George an excellent plus plus rating! Thanks especially to Ryan and Seamus!.
all reviews » Location in downtown Charlottetown is excellent. Very clean, nicely renovated. Quiet. Check in staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice wine/beer hour in the afternoon. Breakfast offering is decent though a little awkward to eat at the sofas and chairs. The location is great and the hotel is well-kept and clean. The best part was the service - warm cookies, happy hour for guests, quickly brought a portable crib to our room, turn down service, nice breakfast and very friendly staff. the historic period fixtures/decor the location in Charlottetown/ease of walking daily cookies/cocktails coffee in lobby breakfast each morning very pleasant friendly staff. i really enjoyed the spa bath in our room. I enjoyed the evening drink of wine. I enjoyed the lovely attention to detail in the interior decoration. The staff was wonderful and made you feel very special. The afternoon happy hour they offered was exceptional.We would return again and again. We liked everything. The baked cookies were great. The lounge area was warm and inviting. The room was spacious and very well kept. Historic site in great location. Excellent staff. Daily cookies and week day cocktail hour very nice and appreciated. very quaint room and staff was really good. LIked breakfast and cocktails. We got upgraded to a suite of rooms!. Service was the best!!!!. Rooms, staff,location. the hotel is lovely. Location Staff. Hmmmm. It's hard to think of anything I didn't like. The drain in our bathroom was a bit slow, but was fixed right away by the staff. That's all I've got. the noise factor/neighbors in next room/doors slamming you could hear every cough. The shutters didn't close very easily. The alarm clock didn't work very well. Not a thing. Priced a little too high. nothing. the power went out during out stay and the hotel does not have a generator. nor do they have any kind of supplemental lighting in the hallways. the staff didn't offer anything to us for the inconvenience - obviously it wasn't their fault - but it certainly impacted our trip. Wasn't quite what I expected from the photos on the net. There maybe some areas that do but as I had requested a lovely room as it was to be the high light of our trip, it was a little disappointing. Our room lost power the morning we were leaving. The bathroom/toilet was very small and the fan was pathetic so took ages to remove steam etc. Dampness resulting.
