We've stayed with 2 little children. The room was pretty big for all of us. Stuff was friendly and answered my requests. I checked out at 11:00 and asked to keep our 5 big bags in the locker for a couple more hours. They allowed me to do it and actually I came back some 12 hours later to take it. Location is very good - just near the c-train station.

The staff were amazing! Always friendly we walked out of our room and we had two different people at different times say good morning it was awesome to feel that important, I even left my bracelet there and they were able to give it back!. I had a problem with my credit card and the front desk manager was very helpful. Hotel itself has nice facilities like a pool, hot tub, weight room and Moxies downstairs. If you're staying downtown on Calgary this is a grea location. I like the fact that I was able to leave my family in the room while I was attending a meeting downtown. And I especially like it that I was allowed to do a 3pm late check out; without having to pay aditional cost. The staff was excellent and the location was good. Loved that it was across from the light rail. The restaurant was excellent as well. I enjoyed my stay. Great Location, right next to the C-Train Rail station. Taxi rank right by the door. Excellent food in the Restaurant with very polite and friendly staff. I like the room of 20th floor, the window are large and I was a very good view of the city, the tramway is noisy , but it pass just side the hotel. The location is accesible to everything, especially the C train, shopping malls, etc. You can get around easily even without a car. Excellent location, quite clean, staff is supportive. Good value for money. Room spacious though slightly outdated. Location was a plus and the facilities were wonderful together with the staff who were always happy and helpful. Also the room was too small, I was surprised when seeing it considering the cost I was paying. The hotel rooms in other countries are more spacious than this hotel. Stayed there on June 20-22, 2013, exactly while the largest flooding in Calgary happened. Empty and closed downtown, no transport, no taxis, no shops, no restaurants, felt in the middle of nowhere in the heart of city centre. Sure, it was not the problem of the hotel at all, but the restaurant in the hotel was also closed, no giving chances to have some dinner. However I have to say that Sandman was the only one among with two others hotels, stayed opened during that disaster. Nothing. no fridge. elevators malfunction. Calgary itself. Very seedy and lots of drunks on the streets. Would have liked an ATM so I didn't have to go to the MACs Everything around the hotel shuts down early probably do to the clientle outside. no fridge. Was some water damage(?) on one of the walls and the wall paper was peeling but the room still "felt" clean. there was no where to park, I mean to drop someone the evator scared my wife. slow elevators. Valet parking First meal wasn't cooked properly, cold and raw on the inside. Anything. The heater is not warm enough. The price is same for both a queen bedroom and a regular room, but I get much smaller room than regular's. Had two rooms booked struggled to get Internet in both. Shower in one room didn't work which was not acceptable for hotel of this standard and cost. To his credit the duty manager waived our parking expenses as a result of this inconvenience. If you're a business traveler, you should avoid this hotel. The internet is completely unreliable and when I asked the front desk, they told me to contact the IT department... service in M bar completely horrible, we were the only table in the bar on Saturday evening and the waitress was slow slow slow and couldn't get an order right. Urine on the parkade floor, elevators unreliable. No convenience store on sight. Very noisy in the halls. Area is kinda rough so lots of lower class around the hotel and IN OUR hallway. No continental breakfast. Parking- $22- should have been quoted in the price. Parking- each floor had elevator signs when you can only access the elevator from 1st and 3rd floor. Makes for a long trek up the stairs. On departure day- elevator was out of order. Needs further upgrades. Wifi not available in 2 rooms, gave up. Told to try McDs opposite. 2nd room next to lift, noisy Impossible to find with satnav Okay but needs facelift. The internet didnt work for the whole 3 day stay and this made it very difficult to accomplish my work. The shower couldn't decide if it wanted to scold me or freeze me. Bothy of these issues I brought up with the management and none were resolved. I was actually told that hopefully tommorrow these things would work. Tomorrow never came. Front staff did not explain things clearly. relativelily expensive for somehow outdated design/interior. No fridge. You have to pay parking fee. They did not accommodate any of my requests. Was not happy with that. Room badly needed renovating. A bed had obviously been removed at some time to make this a single bedded room and evidence of it remained in the quick and cheap repair to the wall where it had been located. Base boards were dirty. Staff seemed to be business rather than tourist oriented. Very expensive for the room and services offered. Room decor and setup, phone off in corner of room (not at desk nor at bedside), low end furniture, tiny bathroom, flashing/buzzing lightbulbs, cheap linens, etc. I was extremely disappointed.This hotel is very run down.Long past a Reno !!!. Lots. Staff at front desk were confusing. They advised that they had no renovated rooms and then after 25 mins of discussion gave me a "renovated" room. My closet was plywood with a bar, there was mould on the ceiling, drapes and curtains were filthy. I didnt take my shoes off the whole time. Elevators and escalators were filthy. No one to help with bags or open the door or call a cab. All this for $300/night. Not impressed. the staff did not check the room everyday. Shower pulses hot water, almost burnt me. Slow room service. Grungy hotel and moxies had dirty feeling. Parking or the fees, which were not told before I rec'd the invoice. There was a huge issue with people getting their vehicles morning of checkout and many very upset people crowding the lobby. The front desk seemed to find it a bit humorous. The fact you have to go thru the exercise room to get to the pool was a bit embarrassing.. Overall experience was not great and not likely to stay again.
