No wonder this place is number one at Calgary airport! Enthusiastic and motivated staff, a huge room with big bathroom (with bath), good restaurant which isn't too overpriced, beautifully comfortable beds and a good gym and swimming pool. The location is spot on. No aircraft noise but close enough to the airport to be there in 15 mins door-to-door in a hire car (if you can navigate the roadworks!) We were there during the floods and despite the carnage in town the hotel still had an air of cal.
all reviews » Despite the fact that the hotel looked really luxurious, the staff were very friendly and down do earth. The decor was amazing and the rooms were very spacious. No charge for wireless internet connection. A fabulous business office where you could keep in touch with your work. Very nice pool and some outdoor patio spaces. The beds were awesome - I mean really comfortable. There is a Starbucks on site - how good can it get? The rates were reasonable too! Loved it! Will go back when I am in Calg. there was a communication problem regarding our reservation between letsbookhotel.com and the hotel. It took 45 minutes to resolve, which was rather unwelcome at 12:30 am, after a full day of travelling - should have taken a few minutes- then we were given a two queen bed room instead of the king we booked. I like to think the Marriot can do better. Felt very welcomed as soon as I arrived - very friendly girl who checked me in. Rooms were spotless, housecleaning staff were very friendly and smiling...it just felt like all the staff were like a family (one that gets along - lol). This will be the only place I will stay at when I return to Calgary. We liked every thing about it, the best bed we ever slept in and the best shower we ever experienced in a hotel," not a slippery bathtub to stand in". Liked the fact that we had our own room temperature control. The Starbucks coffee we had in the bistro was the best we ever tasted. GREAT PLACE. Beautiful new facility. The decor was very modern and roomy affect throughout both the lobby, hallways and the guest rooms. The Bistro with the novel, private seating arrangement was a cozy touch. Fantastic helpful staff, lovely room, decent size of room, excellent bathroom, very comfortable beds. Good breakfast choice at the coffee bar. Close to airport and not far taxi trip from downtown. This was in an airport facing room, perhaps the other side wouldn't be so bad. The only downside in an otherwise perfect room. Their food menu seemed limited. Choices were good but I just wished they had a bigger menu. Far from the city. Just a minor nit-pick: WiFi didn't use encryption; nowadays people should know to take security more seriously. As for the other hotels in this area there are limited facility options available for those without a car. Nothing. I liked everything and I am very fussy. We didn't get to use the amenities because we were on a layover. Will definitely come back! -Had to call twice for the shuttle, first lady on the phone gave us the wrong instructions which was kind of annoying. quite a distance from downtown. If travelling without a vehicle, there are a few restaurants within 5 kms, but not much else. The Restaurant has to improve more how make pizza. Didn't like that the coffee shop didn't make StarBucks cold drinks that my wife likes, so we could not enjoy a drink together on the patio. one dirty glass in the bar, was replaced, before I could get ice, thanks. Air conditioning was up high on the wall and blew on us all night. Did not get much sleep. expensive. Dining was limited at site, however lots of choices near hotel. Nothing. Breakfast poor. I like everything . Nothing went wrong with me. No hot tub. When your room key does not work and your on the upper floor and at the end of the hallway. After a long ride from Edmonton. I have to ask for shampoo and lotion. I had a misunderstanding about the phone charger I left at the room. They locked the Lost & Found and ended that my son was not able to pick up said charger. When I requested to mail it to Kamloops, they want to charge my credit card! No trace of customer service!!! Other hotels even faired better! It doesn't have to be in terms of dollars all the time coz if they did the proper turn over of my charger my son would have gotten it. We tried to print our boarding passes using the service that was available, but it didn't work. More annoying was that the staff didn't have a clue how that service was suppose to work. $110.00 first night, $250.00 second night, for that kind of money you would expect a complimentary cup of coffee or the ability to buy a "good" sandwich. Connecting hotel, less expensive and offered more amenities including the two above.
