  The very old downtown is fascinating to be in an old and restored hotel and to stay in a so big room as old times: even the bell of the old church of Se (which annoys some people) for me it was a pleasure to hear.   location close to city centre - The cleaning/cooking staff was GREAT, very helpful, lovely, welcoming (they even taught us to make tapioca).   We arrived late to the hotel (18hrs) and expected to loose the room and pay for it as well. Not so, we arrived at 5am and there was someone at the front desk. He helped us with the taxi driver and got us into a room right away. Then they only charged us for half of the previous day. Amazing. Thanks so much. The room was a suite as promised and was... what people say » nice. There is a pool on the roof, not very large but it did the job on a hot day. Plaza Republico is a good area but the side streets are a bit dodg - Staff was kind and helpful. The room is large, with enough space for everything. It also has a small living room and kitchen attached, which makes it suitable for long stays.
