A small, exclusive hotel with personal flair. It consists of two buildings, Altstadthotel and the Residenz, located opposite each other in a quiet side street of the city’s pedestrian area.

It is just a few minutes walk to Mirabell Palace and Mozart’s Residence. You can leave your car in the garage as all of the city’s sights are within walking distance. For example the cathedral or the fortress, Mozart’s birthplace and the new Congress Hall.

The hotel’s team at the reception are happy to assist you in booking concert or theatre tickets. The internet terminal in the foyer is free of charge for hotel guests as well as the hire of DVDs. You can also relax in our tastefully decorated sitting room.

The spa, with it‘s warm colours and simple design, is ideal for relaxation. This compact leisure area comes complete with swimming pool, Finnish sauna, infra-red cubicle and an attractive 'silence' room with couches for relaxation after the sauna. The family room was very spacious and clean. Even though the room was on the fourth floor and there was no lift, the staff very happily helped with our luggage. The breakfast was absolutely great with wonderful options for all our various likes and dislikes. Staff were excellent and all spoke perfect English which was a lovely bonus. Breakfast offered a generous selection and it was a nice touch offering tea \ coffee and cake each afternoon.

Sound proofing of rooms not very good and no overt policy of silence after 10pm. I would have liked to have tea and coffee facilities in our room - especially as we were in the residence across the road from the main hotel building. Yes as mentioned above - the lack of an evening dinner menu. The hotel was able to offer a bar snack.Room size was a little bit cramped. No room service easily available (but morning coffee obtaine on request). price perhaps a bit on the high side. Would have liked some toilettries in room. 53 steps to room could provide a problem for older or very young visitors.Should have replaced hot food at breakfast as it ran out. It was not.1. offsite parking with an expensive extra charge. 2. the room had a very strong odor, which was sorted after leaving the windows open for sevral hours. I did not like the fact that there was no elevator. It was a painwalking up to the fourth floor every single time. And I did not like thefact that there was no internet access from the room! We stayed at Residence, maybe the room was a little small.The carpet was a bit dirty and the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. The Residence part of the hotel has no lift to the upper floors and no air conditioning. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Noise level on street outside at night and in early morning. Could change breakfast menu once in a while.Single rooms and bathrooms are very small. It was, beyond doubt, the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. I wouldnot choose this hotel again. I swear they pick up garbage everymorning at 3am. One hears loud voices, smells smoke from the casinonext door. Yuck!. room was a bit small.

Please note that the Residenz building has no lift. There is a new hotel spa with indoor swimming pool, sauna, infra-red cubicle and massage. There is free DVD rental and a free internet terminal, as well as free wireless LAN internet access in the public areas.

On the highway take the Exit "Salzburg-Nord"; keep straight on on the Street "Vogelweiderstrasse"; in the front of the "Stadtberg" turn right into the Street "Schallmooser Hauptstrasse", after the Hotel Hofwirt (on the right side) turn right into the Street "Franz-Josef-Strasse"; after the 3rd street turn on the left into the "Schrannengasse" and immidiatly to the left, agian into the Street named "Wolf-Dietrich-Strasse"

If you come from Munich, Innsbruck or Villach:
Exit "Salzburg-Mitte" of the highway; keep staight on towards the city center; after the bridge "Salzachbrücke" turn to the right after the 3rd traffic light into the "Rainerstrasse"; straight on to the castle "Schloß Mirabell" (on the right side), then to the left into the "Paris-Lodron-Strasse", then to the right into the "Wolf-Dietrich-Strasse"
