Airport shuttle buses drop off at the hotel door.

The hotel has a rather European feeling to it; the reception area and breakfast room are small and efficient, and our room was of adequate size but not large. The lift was not working when we arrived, but the staff were very helpful in assisting us with our luggage, and they were unfailingly helpful throughout our stay. The lift was repaired exactly when we were told it would be. The hotel is located in Oxford Street in Paddington, a bit outside the central business district but easily accessib.

we felt that we received courteous contact with staff - the room was clean and comfortable - good value for money. We were left stranded at number 21 Oxford St., Darlinghurst by the "Air port to hotel " courtesy bus, and were most impressed when someone from the hotel came in a private car to transport us to to Arts Hotel. We received our early morning call as requested. When we have another visit to Sydney we hope you can accommodate us. I liked the fact that it was a hotel which gave one everything one wanted without any frills, and charged a reasonable price. It reminded me of a good serviceable French hotel and indeed several French people were staying. I found the hotel staff very helpful indeed. I also liked the location: close to Paddington shopping centre with good bus transport to the centre. I love this area of the city, we (my 13 yr old daughter & I) stayed while my husband was at St Vincent's Hospital and it was great to be so close. The staff were amazing; friendly & helpful. We will definitely be returning and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a bed to sleep in without breaking the budget. The location is great for anyone needing a quiet, clean comfortable room for a short stay. The garden room overlooked a nice coutyard and pool with a very comfortable bed., flat screen tv and small, clean ensuite. Perfect and well priced for a short stay in an expensive city. (I did not take breakfasts and am unable to comment on this).We found the staff to be very accomadating. We only stayed the one night and they allowed us to leave our car their after book out time while we caught a taxi to an appointment that we had with lawyers. The room was very clean. A friendly, functional place. My room was in back over the garden and quiet, with good, free, internet access. And the bus stop to city and Bondi is directly in front of the hotel which is very convenient. The hotel was centrally situated to meet our needs, our daughter lives close by and it was also handy to a function which we were attending on the Saturday evening. It is in a very convenient location, is well staffed, safe and reasonably priced. It has a good website. I appreciated an apple and a muffin over my stay. Very clean, nice size room, close to where we needed to Go (Alianz Stadium), double glazed window and door was great screened out all the noise. The location right in an earthy part of the city. Free wifi in garden room.Because we were leaving at 7.15 am, we were not able to have breakfast - perhaps access to a buffet breakfast for early check outs would be an additional service given that most domestic airlines do not cater for breakfast. We were able have breakfast at the Airport because our flight was delayed. . I can't think of anything I did not like. I would be careful though to ask for a room looking out on the courtyard on the back, rather than one facing Oxford Street, which might be noisy. nothing. To really put the likes into perspective, my only complaint would be single ply loo paper!!. A little more attention could be given to decor - for instance, it's called the "Arts Hotel" but there is no work of art in sight!. Need to use stairs to some areas. nothing. An outdoor place to have breakfast would be nice. The fact that it cost more when I booked a single room for my son when the two single rooms for myself and my husband and our other son his partner and baby cost far less. It just didn't add up that 5 people, plus two rooms cost so much more than one person in one room. It is beginning to look a little shabby and the corridors do not smell fresh. Not having enough time to enjoy the courtyard and pool. What's not to like. Bathroom a bit on the small side, but still well kitted out. no ramps to wheel suitcases between floors - although i was in a 100 series room it was actully up a short flight of stairs from the lift. Having to check out so early. Awoke to noisey fan or something similar. When booking asked a question regarding luggage storage. No reply. Nothing in particular!. Small carpark. The court yard closed quite early and it would have been nice to sit out there in the evening. The atm at the convenience store across the road cleaned out my account. So travellers beware!!!. Some background machinery noise noticeable at night. pillows are uncomfortable. The bed was a bit too firm, not very comfortable for my back. Lack of easy access car parking. Space is limited and off street parking difficult to find nearby except on weekends. Lift/elevator not very reliable. breakfast. OK but not great, Boild eggs cold!. Forget to say no stairs on my reservation then the lift broke down thankfully was not out of service for to long. Could not be faulted. Cleanliness in the room could be improved - toilet looked like it needed a thorough scrub with bleach and a loo brush. Breakfast selection was also pretty poor and breakfast service non-existent. single bed quite small.Room very small for the price. Unable to open curtains because the window looked out onto very untidy yards. Couldn't turn the light on in the bathroom without the exhaust fan coming on. This was disturbing to partner during the night. Needs a bit of work.
