The reception staff were friendly and helpful,especially with advising us on trips, and the hotel seemed to be well managed.as this was my first visit to Sydney, I found the staff were very helpful and friendly about giving directions and travel options for various locations. The location is excellent. Easy for CBD, circular quay, bus access to eastern suburbs and airport. centrally located...public transport within walking distances...great place to be based in Sydney. Internet speed absolutely stone age. We did ask for 2 twin beds but this wasn't done nor was it explained that it wouldn't be possible. PS TV needs to be bigger!!. The lift was very noisy and we were woken early but other than that itwas very good thanks. The cleaning service was rudimentry at best. Cleaners entered our roomwhile we were still in it, replaced the towels and emptied the rubbish -but that was it! Also, breakfast was very average and as we were tiredand came down between 9-10am both days (breakfast finishes at 11am) wefound there to be little selection and the staff were reluctant toreplace what was there.Some worries about location on arrival; however, these proved to be ungrounded, so don't be put off if you arrive in the middle of a party night in Sydney!! Would have appreciated good central lighting in the room.the shower, sometime you run out of hot water. parking. Basin of the bathroom did not drain properly. Surely it will be fixed for next guests.Common areas and lobby are scruffy and look 'beat up'. Badly needs new carpets and painting. You have 5 star rooms and 2 star in the rest of the place.Lift noise very apparent in rooms and only one lift.I was made to think that I may have paid twice for my room as it was not explained to me that my card was not actually being charged when I arrived.Staff was helpful but was a bit overwhelmed when more than 2 persons were waiting to address a question. With an early flight in, we would have hoped of an early check-in but it was not an option.there should be more objective information about the hotel. the lobby was very small, the ladder was even scary and overall the hotel looked much more like a apartments to let than a 4 stars hotel.The sign for the hotel was not easy to see/find when first arriving. internet connection was very poor. I paid wireless connection for almost nothing.Parking at the back was very small and hard to park in - just a few spaces available - booking absolutely necessary. Wireless internet power is weak, I could not use e-mail well. I request to improve the Internet condition.No cooking facilities to my surprise! Very noisy rooms. Cleaners start at 7 am. They are very niosy and since all doors of all rooms are next to each other in the lobby of the lift, it stays very noisy till 10 am... You definately need earplugs here.The breakfast is poor. However, you can use the restaurant directly located behind the reception. They have much better breakfast for at least the same price or cheaper.It's a 3 star hotel, not a 4 star as promised.
