My partner and I booked 4 nights here as it was a great price and
location. We then extended 3 more nights as we really enjoyed it. Our
room is nice and spacious with a Tv and balcony. Even though there are
only ceiling fans we found it still did the trick and worked well! The
staff were extremely helpful and accommodating in every request that we
had and always went out of their way to help us and we found this made
our stay even better. The breakfast was an added bonus with eggs, bacon,
toast. all reviews
We arrived at the hotel before check-in time, but had no problem getting to our room. When we got to our room one of the builders who was helping to renovate the hotel said that we were unable to get into our room - so we got an upgrade to a family room for free! The staff we very apologetic. Our room was good as we were in a section on our own, rarely bumped into anyone at the shared bathroom. The TV has a great choice of channels. The breakfast was amazing every morning & had a great sele.
I was h esitant when my sister booked me into Glenferrie Lodge as it had shared bathroom facilities. On arrival, I felt totally at home and safe (important as a solo female traveller). The ratio in my wing was 2 rooms to 1 bathroom so it was totally acceptable. I only had to walk 3 steps to the nearest (very clean) bathroom. The location was brilliant and the value for money is outstanding. As a person who's travelled the world, I appreciate good accommodation. I won't be staying anywhere else .
The lovely old building, sense of history, yes the 'aura' (see
comment from Bob in Coburg), fantastic location, good breakfast and the
lovely back yard with the option to eat breakfast there, friendly safe
atmosphere. Although we don't have pets, I also like the pet
friendliness of G.L. - it is thoughtful and hospitable.
Loved the location! What a gorgeous spot near the Harbour Bridge and that cute shopping/cafe area just up the road. The ferry trip from Circular Quay was great or a walk across the bridge.

It is clean and simple and gotta be one of the cheapest places to stay on the lower north shore.
Also the breakfast (included in the room price) is to die for, top quality hearty food, sets you up for whatever days activities you have planned!.
Fantastic location, just a two minute walk from Kirribilli ferry terminal, which provides ferry access to Circular Quay and thereafter the whole of the Sydney public transport system.
As everyone else says the breakfasts are great.
Great location for ferries (5 mins from Sydney center) and train, exellent breakfast to start the day, although a budget hotel the room was clean and hotel was well kept and in a very safe area, bar and restaurants minutes away.
Good location, in a charming neighbourhoud & only 5 minutes from
Circular Quay by ferry boat. The breakfast was good with a lot of
choice. Free Wifi connection was handy. Shared bathrooms were clean
and not busy.
Pleasant, well run guest house close to harbour, Luna Park, North Sydney and transport to the city. Clean, safe area (Admiralty House security is just down the road). Pleasant garden and lounge areas, good laundry.
Could not fault the place. Great value for money. Staff were great, lovely location, excellent breakfasts. Our room was comfortable and clean. We shared a bathroom but did not find this a problem. Excellent value.
the breakfast was very good, lots of bathrooms which were very clean, the single room appeared very small at first but was cosy rather than cramped but might be a problem for someone with a lot of luggage.

The location is fantastic, the daily breakfast was great. Staff and facilities were very good. I've stayed there half a dozen times in the last 10 years now, and been happy each time.

In the beautiful residential area, Kirribilli, it's quiet at night. And it's near from the wharf, convenient to commute to Circular Quay. I will come to stay here again.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed at Glenferrie. I find the value for money excellent,location ideal,staff friendly and a feeling of welcome and security.
The location and look of the building. The back garden was a great pet friendly space and the hot buffet breakfast was as good as I've had in any hotel.

Sometimes the share bathroom can be annoying if you need to go to the
toilet during the night but it's still no drama.

little nervous in the middle of the night when the loos are for both
women and men.
So I could go on about the lack of ensuite facilities or the simplistic decor but really let's compare apples with apples. They do not promote themselves as some 5 star hotel, and this is reflected in the price. This place definitely gives you value for money and the staff are friendly and helpful too! :-).

Ten pm curfew, understand the garden but not the lounge. The rooms are not large and it is very restrictive being sent to your room at ten. This does not apply to all and seems to depend on mood of staff, not good when people have been on courses or working late and need to relax, would suggest eleven pm is more sensible.
The shower was not very warm..
For second year, the internet is painfully slow and difficult to find wireless connection...almost unusable.
Two guys next door welcomed other young people into their room very late into the night and we found it noisy, very disturbing and disruptive. There should be a curfew for non-paying guests and no "room parties".

personally I did find the seps/stairs a bit steep (I am 72 yrs) and saw other residents struggling more than I did. Eventually thought must be given to an external lift system as I saw handicapped people with wheelchairs having a hard tuime.
