Staff was friendly and helpful. Free ice when needed was graciously provided by the staff. Small balcony overlooking the grounds, pond (lake), and sculptures. all reviews the grounds were fantastic overlooking the lake and the bush strip. The restaurant service and food was fantastic, as was the young man who was our waiter. The rooms were really nice and comfortable and breaky was great. All staff I came across were helpful and polite. I would stay there again in a flash!!. The location close to train stations is good and the environs are delightful. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the lawns and the lake was great and the room was very well appointed and very comfortable. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The staff were excellent. The restaurant is good. The hotel is close to relatives whom we wished to see, in Newport, Eastwood, Pymble and the city. Access to the city by train is excellent. Location, price, friendly staff, natural setting meant quiet surroundings. Room staff asked us when it would be convenient to service our room.Most of the breakfast buffet was enjoyable. It was great value for money. The room was lovely, the room service menu great in content and cost and to top it off the food was very nice! Would definitely stay there again. Great Place!!! Inside the Macquarie University campus and near the Macquarie Shopping center / Bus/Train stations. Free coffee/tea at the lobby and friendly staff. Value for money well equipped medium sized room that was well maintained and presented. Quiet locale (even if the neighbours weren't one night). Easy to find venue Saturday morn staff at reception very friendly. Friday nite staff at reception not very welcoming when checking in. The parking is free. The nearby Travelodge charges $7.50 per day for the same carpark. The view overlooking the lake. food in restaurant was quality. Peacefull. Relaxing setting. the room was. There was very little storage for our bags and clothes. Drawers and refrigerator were taken by 'mini-bar' items and closets were taken by blankets and safe. I like to unpack my suitcase when staying for 4 nights. Bags were placed on floor with clothes in them. Needed to pick them up, put them on the bed, open the bags, and sort thru to select clothes. Working out the parking was a chore..but as was pointed out to me, even the street parking was close enough to the front foyer not to be too problematic anyway. :). Taxis are not reliable. The room was a little small to entertain family members. Pillows too flat and hot buffet on one day had been there too long -dry and hard food. Not a great deal of parking although it is free!. Car parking is a bit distant and could be an issue in some weathers. Water found its way onto the bathroom floor due to the gaps around the shower door, car park was a fair distance from the hotel. no cafes within easy walking (although we did know that when we booked and took taxis) bathroom design created difficulties: 1. shower always leaked onto floor and needed extra towels to mop it up 2. towel rails were inside shower - weird! and had to drape toels on chairs and door knobs in room to dry. Pokey bathroom. Shower always overflowed onto the floor. Poor, scant ABC TV reception. Restaurant meals were small and expensive. Dining room chairs were badly in need of replacing. The carpark was a bit far away from the rooms, foxtel was not working. Restaurant lets it down - service is slow. I waited half an hour after being seated and no-one came to take my dinner order; then I left. It has been slow on previous visits too. Food is acceptable but nothing special, and meals are overpriced. Nowhere to hang towels in very small bathroom with no fan. Crappy weather! No towel racks. I was very cold on the first night until I found the extra blankets stuffed into small draws in a cupboard. Noisy aircon/heating. Parking is a long way away from the room, big down side. Design of the shower door - water easily leaked over bathroom floor. Not adequate hanging for wet towels. Needed a map from the station- we went the wrong way. Was a bit too far from the station to drag all our cases but too close for a taxi and they weren't helpful when I asked about buses. lack of parking. The restaurant being shut on a Sunday. Uht milk instead of fresh milk. noisy airconditioning system. Not many variety of food in brakefast. The parking facility is a let down as its too far away from your room. The parking to far from room. Noisy at night from other guests. Parking. Nothing. The fee is much higher than it was a couple of years ago. Parking. The air conditioning was too noisy (so we had to switch it off), including that in the next room. No Bath!. There was not any where to hang bathtowels. Eg hooks behind bathroom door would b excellent. The towel rails that are present do not fit towel thru and allow to dry if showered overnite. Lack of parking close to the hotel. The secure parking is not really secure. A lack of single beds. A lack of a microwave because dining choices are very limited. parking some distance from room required moving luggage/personal effects and no trolley was available. No bath Bathroom too small Room was freezing trough the night. Food was bad Breakfast was not good Staff not professional Was just Uni accommodation really. no pool no spa wasn't really any entertainment at the hotel.
