  Amazingly convenient if arriving by train or on the bus from the Airport. Reception staff were very friendly, room was spacious with comfortable chairs and a low table as well as a desk and chair. Bathroom excellent. It was quiet overnight and I slept very well. Buffet breakfast of a high quality. I had a back injury this trip and when I checked in David on reception was at my room shortly after me with a bucket of ice for my back & would not accept a tip but wished me well in my recovery. These acts of kindness & excellent customer service are definitely remembered & appreciated.

  We were smack bang in the middle of the city so location was excellent. Easy walking distance to most things we were interested in visiting. I found the staff friendly and polite. My daughter visited us on this trip and we arrived back quite late one night to the Hotel and the staff were extremely accomodating in allowing her to stay the night wit... what people say » h us, which didnt end up happening in the end. Based on this alone I would defintely stay here again. Value for money a definite. Alice's was lovely w - This hotel suited us exactly it had all we needed for a short 3 day stay in Melbourne. Close to shops theatre, art centre Fedration Square and public transport. Bed was comforable, room clean and fresh, bathroom was new with good shower and loads of hot water. The cost of a three night stay was incredably inexpensive for its central city position. Not a luxury hotel if you want spa baths etc. but most definitely a good quality hotel for travellers who want a bit more than backpacker budget hot

  The staff were awesome. From the pick up & return to the airport by the hotel shuttle bus was a fantastic service. This alone would make me stay here again. Their night shift driver "JP" even dropped me to the nearest Tram so i could use a more cost effective way into the city. Yeah it takes longer but for $3.50 return by tram to the city is a... what people say » bargain, plus "JP" picked me up in the shuttle bus upon my return to take me back to the motel. This is a fantastic service. I would not hesitate to - myself and my new husband booked the wrong date we flew back into Australia,and at 11:30pm we were able to not only change it to that night-but a free shuttle came to get us!! the room was huge and so clean and bearly 5 mins from the airport. breaky was amazing and we even had a gym to go sweat some over eating from our hoiladay! the staff even helped us with a luggage scale so we could weigh our bags for our flight the next morning. i cannot say enough how amazing i found this hotel, and would

  It was a perfect place for me to stay. I was only there to sleep as the people I went to Melb to see lived around the corner. It was also easy to get into Melb on the tram, via interesting stre ets eg Gertrude and Smith. The staff were eager to help ie. Wake up call and call for taxi. Also I left my phone charger there and they were happy to keep ... what people say » it there until it could be collected. A good place to stay! - Staff were absolutely brilliant,had time for all our questions and were very friendly. Special thanks to Gail at front desk, she helped us out after we left valuables in the room after check out, was not a problem at all.   We were there the first weekend that Aura opened and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome or at home. The apartment was spotless and we had everything that we needed and more! Location was better than I had hoped with a 5min walk to Southern Cross station which was perfect for the Skybus and 10min walk into the City Centre & Southbank.... what people say » We will be staying here next time we go to Melbourne too! - We stayed here for 7 days. Great location, 3 min walk from the free city tram stop, 5 min walk to sea life, 8 min walk to crown casino and10 min walk to federation square. Very convenient! Spacious and clean room. Staff were excellent in providing assistance when required. Very fuss free. Unfortunately room wifi was down but we understand it's an isolated incident. Nonetheless, will stay here again!

  Really impressed with Budget 1 Hotel, really great facilities especially for the price - facilities included an outdoor pool, good restaurants, and gym. Staff were really helpful. I had originally booked into a single room, but once I arrived found out my partner was joining me in Melbourne sooner than planned, the staff were really accommodating ... what people say » and upgraded me to a double room at no extra charge - was really lovely of them. Clean rooms, easy to get into the city, and supermarkets and grocers - The staff at reception are welcoming, very helpful and friendly. Hotel will hold the luggage for few hours until the flight time after check out. This was very helpful. There were sufficient facilities for internet access, restaurants etc., Simply a wonderful place to stay for the budget traveller. I would definitely take my family next time.
