We stayed at Oaks on Market for two nights. The studio apartment was clean, comfortable and spacious. The hotel is close to Casino and night life, within 10 minutes by walking. They provided discount parking ($10 per entry or per day) in a nearby car park. Staying there again could definitely be our future consideration! Bye the way, the coffee bar next door provides free wifi and we went there for our breakfast and checking emails.

The hotel was convenient to all the city attractions we were interested in and we were able to walk or utilise the nearby trams and trains as necessary. We have already recommended Oaks on Market to our friends and will stay there again. There were some funny noises happening in the room I was given and it was also right next to the lifts. I asked to be moved rooms and they were happy to. My new room turned out to be much nicer than the previous one. I also needed a late check out as my flight had been delayed and they were happy to do this. Heated pool, spa,sauna, gym area excellent. two bedroom apartment very roomy, clean, modern and excellent for two adults and two children wanting to eat in with own cooking facilities and full sized fridge. Convenient location for chemists, supermarket, southbank, aquarium. Well done Oaks on Market. Check in and out were a breeze. Wonderful view from our comfy studio apartment on the 21st floor. Kitchenette gave us flexibility to be able to cook our own meals if we chose. Affordable parking located a short walk down the street. Close to public transport and all that the city has to offer. 1. Location, 2. Bath and shower in the room, 3. Flat screen tv in site of bed and sofa. (Some hotels only have them visible from the lounge area). 4. Clean iron base and full size iron. 5.Separate hair drier (not one of those awful ones that work so terribly and are fixed to wall). Perfect location. Fantastic staff. We were staying ( along with interstate & international family) in the lead up to & during our daughters wedding. Could not have asked for more. Everyone was so helpful & caring - even helped me unload the wedding suits from the car!!!. Fantastic location - right in the city and only 10 minutes walk from Federation Square. Clean, well-appointed rooms with all you need for a few days in the city. I didn't cook or use the pool etc. but the facilities looked great. I was on Floor 21 and the views were lovely. Loved the city views from my bed at night and so did my little girl. Very clean and more than I hoped and are used to when staying away. Very accommodating as I needed a second bed at short notice for my son. Thank you. You made our weekend away very special. :-). We stayed 9 nights here for our anniversay and it was a Great location, could walk to all major tourist destinations.Clean and modern, studio with view was impressive at night. Staff friendly and helpful. Definitely stay here again, have joined their reward program. Fantastic staff, excellent service. Was located in the heart of the city close to clubs and restaurants. Was feeling a bit seedy on the morning of checkout and had no problem extending checkout until 11 without charge, with the option of $20 per hour after that. Location was great, it was lovely and quiet, a short walk into Bourke Street mall and easy to jump on trams from near by. Nice reception and bar area. Helpful staff and was a reasonable price. Rooms are nice and clean and modern with great views of the city. The breakfast was nice and as my 8 year old son was complimentary it represented great value and a great start to the day. Staff were friendly although I got a sense that they were not local so there advice was a bit vague and not that helpful. Everything, the room was very comfortable, the staff exceedingly helpful and pleasant, and no mini bar to take out of the fridge and the have to put back!! Excellent room facilities (studio apartment with city views), spacious room, reasonable price, convenience of restaurant and bar, quiet rooms, reasonable walking distance to most places. Location is perfect. Very close to Flinders station and other bus/tram/city circle stations. Safe area. Federation Square, Crown Plaza, DFO, David Jones and Myer are in walking distance. The location of the hotel is good for getting around Melbourne either by tram or foot. The staff were very accommodating and polite. The facilities were good. Had an enjoyable stay. I am not sure how much money would earn from charging of using internet by the hotel. But I know that free internet and free wifi are always one of important factors for selecting hotels now. The only criticism we have was trying to adjust our air con was virtually impossible :(. Can't think of anything. No car parking facilities at motel although the public carparking facility down the street was secure we didnt like the fact that every time you wanted to take your car in and out you had to pay $10 each time even if it were 5 times a day. I'm sure people wouldn't mind paying a slightly higher flat per day rate. Strike up a deal with the parking facility please Oaks On Market. 1. That the house maid forgot to replenish my tea bag supply. 2. No slope up to hotel entrance so have to carry suitcase up stairs. 3. When I arrived in the room even though there was a kitchen there was nothing to do the washing up with. 4.Despite keeping the door key separate from my credit cards I had to travel down to get the key reprogrammed as it wouldn't open my door. 5. Wifi prices. Lack of laundry facilities in the apartment. Not a big deal but in places the furniture was looking a bit tired (paint peeling off the desk). We asked to book an airport transfer with the company advertised at the front desk, but were informed we needed to call them ourselves. Fine for us as we have Australian mobile phones, but maybe not so good for overseas visitors. Would have been nice for the front desk to do this for us. Clearer louder voices in reception would of been better. I'm not used to accents. The T.V. in the bedroom had no remote & did not operate, a remote was provided however the set did not work & after 8 days no-one had replaced the set, or advised us that a replacement could not be provided, We were not aware that we were required to wash up the dishes. No negatives. Maybe have the later 11am checkout as standard, but really nothing else I could pick on!. There was no kettle in our room or teaspoons. The spa was cold - irrespective of the time if day. There was rarely towels down near the pool so on one occassion we had to go in the lift wet. One day I was sitting in the sauna and a cleaner came in and sprayed deodoriser - it smelt horrid and have me a headache. Why spray? The wood smells lovely in the sauna. Not much vegetarian food on the menu in the restaurant, no shower cap, and a minor thing, bathrobes for going to and from the pool, also not enough information in the room re services and what the hotel had to offer etc. The water pressure and shower was OK. What I dont like is the car park which is 100 meter from hotel. The view outside our window looked into an allay way plus no balcony. A leg on the bed was broken (didn't impact comfort of bed). It was reported but never fixed despite us being there for 2 nights. I don't think there was anything. Crockery shelf way too high for short people!. If you need airport-hotel transfer, you need to confirm and pay directly to the hotel. Or else, you have to find other transportation by yourself, which is easy and a bit cheaper. Nothing not to like. Room can be arranged better ( it is quite uncomfortable to watch the TV). Staff is a bit unresponsive (we have to asked twice for a hair drier that wasn't available in the room the first time we came). The pool is so small, in dark environment and unstaffed. Lifts were a bit slow. I had selected a room with a river view and I selected this hotel because of that. Unfortunately when confirmation came through it just said with a city view so queried it and was told that there was a view - so tried twice to ensure that we had the river view but to no avail. A phone book in our room would have been good. Not a major, but the shower taps were difficult to obtain the right temperature. Our room connected to the one next to us and we could hear almost every word - not very private or relaxing when it was occupied. The spa pool was cold and a disappointment.. I don't think it should be promoted as it isn't usable unless you are a penguin. Inconsistency amount staff re free internet use, newspaper and ice delivery to the room. Only two towels delivered to the room for two adults daily. Not serviced daily - would have been nice to come back after a busy day shopping to a nicely made bed!. Some of staffs are not really friendly but not all of them. the only thing that i didn't like was the staff they were rude and judgemental. i don't know whether it was because we were younger than everyone else but still no judgement is needed anywhere. I requested a cot for an 8 week old baby however the cot came without a mattress (a blanket was put in to take the place of the mattress) and I was expected to pay $20 per night for that. I requested the cot to be taken away but the hotel still wanted me to pay for it which i refused. The air conditioning was very eratic - sometimes too hot or cold and difficult to adjust. Poor lighting in the bathroom not condusive to managing contact lenses or makeup application. The hotel has an early check out.If they could extend this until 12pm it would be better. The heating/air conditioning system in the room was hard to adjust and temperamental.
