As I am currently in a wheelchair and had noted this in the instructions - I was delighted that they put me in a King room with a disabled friendly bathroom. This made a huge difference to the trip as everything was made so much easier. The gym facilities for my husband were fantastic - he really enjoyed that. The location is excellent and that's what you are paying for. The hotel is high quality - but not sure if I'd say 5 star - certainly 4 star. I liked the hotel's commitment to the environm.
all reviews » Everything, it was the perfect night after our wedding, the room was amazing and the views were spectacular. The staff were so friendly and happy to assist with everything and anything. The breakfast the next morning was beautiful. I will never stay in any other hotel again other than the Grand Hyatt... Nice room and bedding, great bathroom. Location is very convenient for city tour, and closed to tour centre, lots of fancy restaurant walking distance, hotel staff are very helpful. Facilities, dinner in restraunt, close to Run Melbourne start, luxury as we require now in ours mid 50"s years. One tiny thing - the alarm clock had been left with a pre-programmed alarm for 7am on a Sunday morning by a previous guest. I never thought to look at the alarm clock before going to bed exhausted from our flight on saturday night - only to be woken early on Sunday. I recommend that housekeeping clear all alarms in between guest changes. Wifi is very expensive , no free wifi in the lobby. Room is not spacey with a round table . stood on a tip off high heel shoe in my bare feet in room (not mine) a few little bites of paper on floor like it hadnt been vacumed. not enough storage in the room - only a single sink in bathroom - had an issue with the plumbing which we ended up just coping with. The "laundry" prices are ridiculously high - $ 14.00 to launder 1 pair of pants ! Restaurant not very inviting - did not even see a hostess most the time - the daily room cleaning not as clean as it should be - fairly sloppy actually - no attention to detail (walls of shower had old toothpaste on it from prior user ). Pool area is a bit dated. Dark hallways Breakfast overpriced ($30 more fitting) Towels were tattered on the edges. The hotel looked a little ' tired ' , thus a little expensive. Nothing. Room was nice but stepping out to passageway smelled of cigarette smoke. Wait time for elevators was to long both up and down. The ridiculous breakfast buffet tea and coffee service. Please just let people make their own. Buy a big tea urn and a fancy Swiss coffee machine. All 4 people at our table had to ask 2 or 3 times for their tea/coffee order before it came. This happened to each one of us every single day for 4 days. That's 16 stuff ups in a row. Also coffee when it finally came was v ordinary. PLEASE be kinder to yr guests - just let us make our own. Everything else about buffet was really good. The heating was always turned up in the hotel, very hard to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. just didn't have the feel of a 5 star hotel. No wifi included in the bedroom. Nothing. Wasn't really happy with city view. Would have been nice to have someone explain the breakfast item and where they were and what was included ie were we allowed to have pancakes in the continental?. The cups in the room are are far too small to have a cup of tea or coffee in-- tiny need two cups to make a mug fullin the morning. A little bit expensive for what it is relevant to Westin & Sofitel both 100m from Hyatt. The plumbing from adjoining rooms is very noisey and can be heard each time a tap is opened, a shower used or a toilet flushed. The rooms are not very good accoustically including the slamming of other patrons room doors. The cleaning of the bathroom was not to a standard I would expect from a hotel of this calibre. Shower - no pressure and cold. Nothing. Slippery shower. Price. Didn't get points on my Hyatt gold card. WiFi charge of $29.00 for 24 hours. That is a disgraceful charge given the price of the room. At an hotel of that standard I would expect free WiFi. Tired room poorly laid out. Uncomfortable bed, uncomfortable room chair. Leaking shower door in bathroom. Bad experience with concierge bouncing me between upstairs/downstairs to find a umbrella. Resulted in not being able to help and suggested a walk in the rain to go buy one. Room was not at the standard expected for a $600+ cost and 3 night booking. Old scratched table, small room, lighting poor. compromised outlook onto another office building. Early dining meant slow kitchen service. Took over 30 mins for steamed fish to arrive and only after staff went to investigate. Bathroom was a problem. Sink did hardly drain, one downlight did not work for 10 days, shower rail was bent and ripped loose from the wall. Maintenance needs to check the rooms routinely. Not five star quality. No free wifi I asked them to clear shower drain but it wasn't done coffee shop service was unlike Grand Hyatt sin, they need a lot of training coffee shop/room service menu disappointing decor is dated.
