Very clean and comfortable motel! Was on a limited budget and was very pleasantly surprised! Lady on reception very helpful and friendly, told her we were visiting for the penguin parade and she helped us out with directions and times and a few tips for the trip! Penguin parade is a must do! Awesome! Overall, enjoyed our stay very much!. Near Coles n other eateries even late at night after the Penguin Parade . Toilet has been renovated - looks good . Air conditioning/heating unit looks new too n working well. Quiet n spacious family room with heating blankets . A good deal.
all reviews » Loved the friendly quiet atmosphere. It wasn't especially busy and the location is brilliant. The bed was comfy, the rooms quite spacious and the grounds nice and green and leafy. Above all the value for money was excellent. great value for money, excellent location near the beach, spotlessly clean, modern interior with all you need, staff was extremely helpful and friendly. It is also convenient that each unit has individual parking spot. Walking distance to the town where the visitor information centre is located and also to the beach. Gave us free wifi although it was chargeable :-) penguin parade :-). I like the location of Tropicana, it was quite and relaxing yet it was walking distance to the beach and to the main street for shopping and cafes and restaurants. Out of the way yet close enough to the main street. We arrived much earlier than stated yet it was no trouble and we were not told to go away and come back later. The friendly staff, spacious room, we booked two rooms one of which was the suite for my daughters family which was extremely spacious. Lovely grounds, very neat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size. good having a toaster as well as kettle and mugs not cups. It was good value. The water for the spa appeared to be bore water and was brown in colour - very disappointing spa experience. No kitchen facilities in our room. Iron with burned sole. Generally the cost of staying in Philip Island is a bit high. nothing. everything was good. in cowes have to rent a car the motor inn should provide traveler information about rent a car,if not no where u can go. because the only one travel information center is consider far from motel. Price!. Would have liked a microwave as standard, plates, knives & forks etc. Bathmat would be good. Would have ordered breakfast but didn't see it was available until too late. I don't know why some places such as this still charge for wifi access. More and more places throw it in for free these days. Nothing. The room was dark and we had to have the lights on all the time. Loose handrails. too much light into the room at night. the fact that you are expected to pay to hire a microwave and dvd player. what point is there in having a toaster if you don't have a plate, bowl cutlery,basic cutting board or sharp knife. very irritating to have to go out and buy disposable plates and cutlery. have stayed in many motels and this was first time IN ONE SO SCANTILY SUPPLIED. A toaster was provieded in the room buth there were no plates or knives provided. shower small. Free wifi would have been nice. No crockery which we found surprising as this is normanly supplied. Parking was a bit tight. Difficult for two larger size people to be inside to relax. No washing and drying machines. Internet is not free and I didn't even have a wifi signal in the room. the spa bath was very small. Taps that dripped unless turned off hard. Annoying. flies. Basic room with toaster but would have been useful to have plates and cutlery!! Very basic toiletries compared to other motels.
