We were a couple with a infant. We were recommended to this hotel by a friend. It had cooking facilites we wanted for our baby. T also had Air conditioner, car parking and wi-fi which we look for where ever we go. The staff (receptionist- I assume she is the owner) was very friendly and helped us a lot to plan our sight seeing. Worth for every dollar you spend. It was our first visit to High Chaparral, but hopefully not the last.The room was very clean and comfortable. Enough packing space. Bed was very comfortable.Kitchen area very adequate. Good outdoor BBQ area. Location great - near the Esplanade, shops and airport. Good price for the facilities as a lot of budget accommodation have shared bathrooms.
all reviews » Old style but great value for budget traveller. The room had a microwave and a proper kitchen sink a good sized fridge plus a barbecue area outside so is semi self catering. Also had a king and a single bed. Close enough to city centre even if on foot. Free wifi and off street parking. Staff were friendly and it was quiet and peaceful. The drawers to put my clothes in were nice and clean On the whole it as all very good My husband has throat cancer through smoking and drinking so if you can have a go at giving up the smokes thank you angela brown. I love the place and its really good value for money. Staff are friendly. More accessible through internet. As promised in the internet, I received alll the facilities in the motel. Its all good. . The people on reception were really helpful and there was plenty of information available as to what to see in the area. It was a good base and access to the city centre and beyond was ideal for us. The staff helped us several times, they really went out of their way for us. Loved the kitchenette. Easy to walk a block or two to a variety of eateries. It is calm and quiet with reasonably good rooms and importantly essential kitchen utensils for cooking. Spacious rooms. No hassel in after hour check in. The rooms were spacious, clean, private, relaxing and the location is about 10minute walk from the cbd. Exceeded expectations. Will stay here next time. Although you stated my card would not be used for deposit etc the motel did take a deposit. A little far to beach and city center: 2-3km. none. noise from backpacker motel next door! If the owner can do something to stop the noise, I will definitely rate this motel 10. Thr only thing was the fact that the aircons were only in the rooms and not split systems. The Weather , but we can't do anything about the rain . Apartment a bit smaller than depicted in photo. Two bed unit only had equipment for three people. Air conditioners are old. Only negative is that the parking is very tight. Ok if you have a little city car. Wasn't as close to the city as we thought it was. Noise. nothing to report. Nil screens. (mosquito). No complaints. Little things were missing - no lightbulb in one lamp, no plug for the bath, no oven dishes for baking. Air con in the bedrooms was noisy. Overwhelming smell of bleach when I entered the room. Bed and blinds required maintenance. Without a car it is a little too far from the city centre. No teatowels. Getting out of the parking area was a challenge - not enough space. Bed was a bit too hard but cud have slept in one of ta other beds but didn't. Daily room service Checkin/Checkout time air conditioning. No fly screen door on slider. Ι Pay for a room with WIFI and the inetrnet asked for a password. I call "after hours" the phone number for instruction and the phone was dead. Very good service!!! In want my money back. Bedside lights didn't work - there was an electrical fault. This was on;y a minor problem. No thermostat control on fridge freezer. [frosen milk] Fridge needed defrosting. Bed moved on wheels, that came off at times. Found it odd that bar fridge was off, door open with a towel inside it? Wifi was a bit slow. Bed not very comfortable.
