We had a private room and it was REALLY private - not like in other hostels where you share a paper wall with neighbours. The hostel looks a little like a motel but it is clean and peacfull and on the main street. Staff is really well informed and they book tours for you. Was only there for one night after my Whitsundays trip but nice staff, great location just across from the lovely beach, quiet but also where the nightlife is should you want it. Clean and comfortable accommodation and good value for money.

Small and friendly. A nice balcony to room. Ensuite. Ideal location for the beach and the sailing club. A small supermarket just opposite. Hair dresser next door! Bus pickup stop for train outside door. Staff. Everything! The hostel is really well run. It's basic but has everything you need. It's social without being a party hostel so you can relax after lengthy days of being out and about. The place was good and valuable for what is charged. Amongs the other options of backpackers, I reckon that this is the quiest one as it doesn't have any bar at thr same premises. Massive kitchen and fridges, plenty of outdoor space for eating, effective air conditioning, comfy beds, plenty of luggage space, mostly friendly and helpful staff. Very friendly and helpful staff. I like that its a little away from the main pubs and clubs strip, but still close enough to the promenade and food outlets. Very good kitchen, bed was ok, nice to have fridge in private room. Even though it was situated next to a bar/night club, you couldn't really hear the music or the people. Not too much,was not there long enough we soon cancel our other date. Hot water, kitchen, location, free to leave the luggage. Location Facilities. Nothing. Nothing. N/a. Airlie Beach itself isn't the nicest, town on earth parking is an ongoing issue. Nothing!. Very noisy neighbors, needed ear plugs. Building a bit drab but serviceable. The building was mostly grey concrete which gave it bit of sad first impression. Nothing. no facilities for the rucksack so we had to lay it on the floor. Very small and cramped double room Shared bathroom and shower in same room. just the bare essentials. noisy guys first night.. next night ok. No car park, and plastic mattress (sweaty). There are a lot of rooms but not many car parks, having to park your car behind the backpackers wasn't very appealing considering we had to drag our luggage and we paid $89 for one night ! What is the point of having a TV in the room if there is no reception ? I understand there was a common room but was obviously being utilized by people who were first there and first served. If the TVs are useless then get rid of them !!. Room very small with not a lot in it,just one plug,air condition dated. Noisy, bed is not clean, hairs still on it. The only double bedroom is in the basement and it looks like it was a kitchen/bathroom. For the money we paid we expected a bit more than that. It wouldn't take much to make that room look a little bit better.
