Overlooking a floral park, this family-run bed and breakfast is in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, just minutes' walk away from all attractions.
The Salamander Guest House is an Edwardian building with comfortable en suite bedrooms (no shared bathrooms!). Each bedroom has TV, tea/coffee and central heating.
During your stay, you can enter and exit Salamander Guest House whenever you like. There is a car park/garage to the rear of the guest house.
Excellent cooked English breakfasts are available.

This is a lovely clean, warm and really accessible place to stay to visit Stratford. The excellent service we received delicious breakfast and overall comfort of our suite added to a truly wonderful weekend away. The suite is particularly good for parties of more than two, I was travelling with my parents and the hotels couldn't accommodate us being together - Salamander was perfect - we had our own bathroom and tea & coffee in room it was great value for money as well. Highly recommend it. όλα τα σχόλια »
The owner, Pascal, was friendly, outgoing and funny and worked to make all his guests enjoy themselves, introducing everyone again and again as new guests joined for breakfast in the morning. We were traveling with our 18 yr old granddaughter, and since they were not full, he upgraded our triple room to a really lovely 2 bedroom family suite. Our granddaughter was happy to have her own room for the night, and we were sorry we were only staying one night. The location was good, and it was a ver.
Host very friendly and hospitable. Great sense of humour. Gave very sound advice about places to visit. Cooked lovely English breakfasts for us. Introduced us to other guests at breakfast and we enjoyed friendly banter with him and with guests. Plenty of tea and coffee available in room. Ensuite bathroom. Just what we wanted.Everything within walking distance. Keys to come and go at any time.
The Guest House was centrally located, everything was within walking
distance. Pascal was friendly ,had a good sense of humour and was very
helpful with information on eating places, discount tickets and what
to do. We were able to leave our suitcases there after checkout until
we had to go for our train in the afternoon! We also appreciated the
free wifi.
very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Vivienne always on hand to point you in the right direction. Cooked breakfast looked good but we settled for unlimited toast and cereal, tea, coffee etc. Location perfect, walking distance to town, river and recourse.
Excellent value for clean comfy room with hairdryer and bed made and room cleaned everyday.
We liked the location as we were able to walk from Salamander to the
Royal Shakespeare Theatre in 10 mins and were also able to walk into the
town. Our room was quiet and restful. The breakfast was generous, well
cooked and served in a charming room with a view of a pleasant garden by
our entertaining French host Pascal. Excellent value for the price.
Only good words to say. Rooms clean; the proprietor had created an extremely friendly atmosphere. He gave us most excellent advice about sightseeing. Breakfast great and obligingly served earlier than ordinary as we had to catch a train. The location is most convenient - close both to the railway and the major sites.
I stayed for two days with my wife and two children. We really enjoyed
staying there. The owner, Pascal is very kind and friendly. The room was
clean and comfortable. The only thing inconvinient was shower, it was
not easy to control hot water. Nevertheless, I will stay there again
when we visit Straford.
Our lovely host, Vivienne, greeted us as very welcome guests, and pointed out places of interest and how to get to them easily. Her eating place suggestions were A1. The guesthouse is ideally situated within walking distance of all major attractions in this delightful ity.
Pascal, the host, was friendly with a great sense of humour and very
flexible. He allowed us to drop off our luggage on arrival and leave it
there on the day we left. The place was clean and met our needs. The
breakfast was good and served with a smile.
Friendly little B&B very close to the heart of Stratford and only a few blocks from the train station. Pascal was an ultra-friendly and informative host. The B&B is fairly basic, but is clean and quiet. We'd enjoy staying here again!.
Pascal was awesome! Informative and helpful, made the place feel like a family home. The room was great and the breakfasts were delicious. He accommodated my vegetarian fiancé happily. Will stay here again if ever back in Stratford on Avon.
The location, within walking distance of everything we wished to see and do in Stratford-upon-Avon, was excellent. The owner was a delightful man who was very gracious and attentive to his guests. Good amenities.
The location - very close to main shops and not far from theatre
Breakfast - nothing was too much trouble and it was lovely being introduced to the other guests there
Car parking on site - necessary for Stratford.
Pascal was delightful. Nothing was too much trouble: he did everything possible to make us comfortable & help us to get the most from our stay. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend this guest house.

Pascal the owner was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location was very central and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. Facilities were clean and comfortable.
No hassels, even though we checked in late (flat tyre) and stayed another day. Pascal's a wonderful host and makes a great cup of coffee. Easy walk to everything with excellent Internet service.
Very courteous host, helpful in many ways. Great location and easy walking to centre of town. Off-street parking a bonus. Nice breakfast but no fruit or yogurt if not taking cooked option.
Pascal was very helpful, dramatic, charming, a perfect French host. The breakfast time was wonderfully theatrical!
The room which was at the top was compact but clean and comfortable.
Pascal, the host has a lovely warm personality and a great sense of humour! He had us laughing every morning. Food was excellent! Beds were super comfortable. Location was excellent!.
The master was so warm-welcomed. And my father speaks highly of him. He loves talking and really helps a lot for our travellers. The room is not so big, but is really comfortable.
Nice room and breakfast (with delicious fresh coffee), great host - Pascal thank you for your help and hospitality, I've never laughed that much during a hotel stay.
Pascal the owner was very friendly and helpful and made the stay very memorable. Room and breakfast were good and location perfect for going to the theatre.

Pascal is probably the best host I have come across in a long time. He is very thorough and nothing is to much trouble.
The owners are incredible extremly helpful and nice people. They do everything for you no matter what is your problem.
Salamander is well located in a world famous tourist town and the staff there were particularly friendly and helpful.

The service and staff were excellent. Pascal was the perfect host. Highly recommended.
The food was very good.
Staff friendly.
Location was great for town ctr.
Free parking.
the location was excellent the staff were lovely and very informative about the area.
The owner was very friendly. The breakfast was very good. The location
is also good.
Friendly relaxed atmosphere, and very convenient to the town and
the theatres.
Central to attractions
Clean and tidy
Host was informative and very amusing.
Good location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and facilities.
Can't think of anything.
Parking was tricky in a limited parking lot.
The coffee. But that is a personal taste. I'm not fond of the
plunger method of making coffee as it leaves too much sediment in the
cup. I prefer the drip method.... But the coffee was of a good quality.
The room was a little crowded.
erratic nature of water pressure meant shower was sometimes more of a drip or two than a spray.
NOTHING! everything was perfect!.
Ground floor room small, beds creaked continuously.
The many flights of stairs to the top room.
Nothing!.
Nothing.
Car parking spaces tight but to be expected in urban area.
I forgot to request a ground floor for my stair challenged mother so unfortunately we were on the top floor. she managed slowly but will remember next time although I believe the only twin room is the top one and extra may be charged for the x3 ground floor.
Accommodation was very basic. Breakfast could have been bigger.
room is a bit too small, we only had a camera bag and it seems there's no space to put it.
Size of the room. We were on the top floor and the room is very small and very hot (this wasn't Pascals fault as it was a hot weekend). Could have done with a fan or 2!!!.
Small shower.
low ceiling in room.
breakfast room is small and feels crowded.
Room overlooked main road with busy traffic which was noisy when window open.
Double bed in room made loud noises at the slightest movement when trying to sleep.
not being able to make anyone hear me ringing the doorbell on arrival, this is faulty and on a cold day very inconvenient.
The bedroom was a little small.
Eventually we had to leave!.
Nothing to dislike about this guest house would visit again.
One tiny minus... People have various preferences for cooked breakfast. I would have preferred to be asked on day one what I would like, for example, scrambled egg instead of fried / no beans etc.
