Everything, the staff were very friendly and very well mannered from the cleaners to the manager, it was very clean, the food fantastic, the rooms wonderful, just brilliant in every way. We got married at Gretna Green and I would reccommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be treated extra special, we upgraded to the rose suite although quite abit

The location of The Ship is good, in a lovely village. We were able to park right outside the door. Staff were welcoming and the room was lrge, very comfortable, with everything we needed and nice extras like bottled water and biscuits. The breakfast choice was excellent and we also had an evening meal which was very nice, with generous portions.

Needed to stay in Gatehouse of Fleet for business and found the ship-inn was ideal for this. The room was very clean and comfortable with Wi-Fi which allowed me to work in room. The food was great and I was made to feel very welcome by the staff. All in all a great stayed which I would recommend to anyone.

The hotel was heaven made for dog owners who like to include their pets in everything that they do. We were able to have our dog with us all the time, including meal times. The staff were great, warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and the whole hotel was comfortable and relaxing. Lots of information in the hotel for walks and places to

Stayed in a spacious, relaxing and very comfortable suite. We loved the decor and furnishings too.
Once we had settled in, a fresh flower arrangement was delivered to our room. That was a nice touch.
Staff were very helpful and friendly,
Wine was reasonably priced. There were ample dishes to choose from the menu. Daily specials were offered too.

We liked everything about it, the hotel was ideal for us, very comfortable and spacious rooms. the food was extremely good and a very varied menu. the staff were very professional and attentive to our needs, even the locals that popped in we got to know. We spent three nights at woodlands and would have loved to have stayed longer.

Mark and Morag, the owners, are a very friendly and hospitable couple who make you most welcome. Morag is in charge of the cooking which is excellent and Mark is in charge of the bar and reservations. If you make a booking for bed and breakfast make sure you book for your evening meal as well as the few tables available get booked up quickly and there is know where else round and about to eat. Morag's breakfast are to die for with tasty locally sourced ingredients.

the location, the lounge, the reception ladies particularly and the whole experience. The people couldn't have been friendlier. Most people I spoke to didn't even know about the hotel and would have stayed there if they had known - Ease of access to Motorway if stopping off on the way to the Highlands. A wonderfull setting in a fantastic old Castle
