It was genuinely nice place to be. The staff were lovely and the decor was simple but in very good taste (subjective). Food was excellent and reasonably priced and the breakfast was Superb. I know this can't be guaranteed, but the other guests were pleasant and interesting too. It was easy to find and you could park safely right outside the front

Nicely positioned, within walking distance of town but just out enough to be quiet. VERY friendly! Simple rooms, ours was a small ensuite, mega power shower but all very clean and fresh. Staff very friendly and welcoming, couldn't do enough to help. Excellent location to explore Jedburgh and other towns in the Borders. Lots of history and lovely scenery. Breakfast good quality. Evening meal menu well priced, good quality. Large room well appointed. Outside tables and seats to enjoy the garden. Off street parking. Free wi-fi. Small and friendly hotel, well worth a visit.

Then entrance to the reception was beautiful and the grounds spectacular. Eeverything was available. The food in the resturant was brilliant - Everything was enjoyable it was very peaceful and relaxing.

After conversation with the owners we ended up staying at Coldstream Bank House rather than Duns House, as it was more convenient for us. It was excellent, beautiful accommodation, very comfortable and a lot of thought had been put into the rooms. Owners very nice, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. -

My second stay at this hotel. This is a big old Scottish house and
feels very special compared with many of the more "standard
type" hotels I stay in when travelling on business. Breakfast was
excellent with the finest presentation of a plate of porridge I have
every seen. Lovely!!! Food and bar prices seem a bit high compared with

This short break was booked for my partners Brithday , we stayed for 2 nights. The room we had was a deluxe double so I can only comment on that type of room , and it was very lovely , large and airy and extremely comfortable. Everything - didn't want to leave! - log fires in all the main rooms and even some bedrooms - not to be missed is afternoon tea and the knowledgeable bar staff who will educate you in their stock of whiskies and biggest selection of gins that we have ever seen.So peaceful - Duke and Scottish borders should be very proud

That they have started to renovate this great building with care since buying it last month. The owner Lynne is amazing host, so caring and friendly. The breakfast was superb. Warm and cosy rooms. Beautiful original features that will be respected during the upgrade. Strong wifi for when travelling for business.
