  We paid £85 for a double room and breakfast which seemed very reasonable and for this price we were more than happy to be offered an inland facing room. We were very pleased to be given a beautiful room with fabulous estuary views.   the setting was perfect. I had travelled a great distance to attend a job interview and my daughter accompanied me. The room was upgraded to superior double room by the managements decision. This was to our heightened surprise and gratefulness. Clean, stylish, spacious and so relaxing with a view of the medieval harbour. We even took adv - The location. That there was plenty to do within walking distance. There was no through traffic., which made it lovely and quiet. Plenty of places to stroll and have a quiet drink or eat. My favourite was the beach. The hotel was homely and just easy to come and go as you please., with food at the car until quite late.

  This was an excellent place to stay in Cornwall and really cheap for the standard of accommodation outside peak times. Very close to St Merryn and Padstow both of which have brilliant places to eat. My wife and I stayed there for the first time recently and we would both highly recommend this place to anyone who should ask. - Our stay was perfect.   The proprietors Hugo and Pippa are truly wonderful hosts, make you feel very special and Woodlands is quite the best hotel we have stayed in - not posh or snooty but really comfortable and welcoming. Pippa was very helpful explaining the local restaurants in Padstow and the surrounding area. We had a great time and sad that it wasn't longer. We look forward to returning soon.
