This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The gentleman at the front desk (guy from Tonga) very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and have whitel linens. Unlike any other hostel this one has sinful beds instead of bunk bed. Has clean big kitchen, tv room. Quiet most of the time. Conveniently located close to everything Major at

My favourite hostel where I always stay in Sydney, probably stayed there for 2 months in total. Location is perfect, staff is friendly, rooms are good and clean in general. Scary Canary is downstares and that is one awesome bar! Always make some great friends when staying at X Base! -

The location was perfect really central and close to the main attractions.
The hostel was clean comfortable and the staff were really helpful. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Very family friendly. I was travelling alone with my 9 year old son and this hostel was the perfect choice for us, the staff were great with my son and it felt safe and

Fabulous views of the city from the rooftop patio. Staff was extremely
helpful. They booked a trip to the Sydney Zoo for us that included the
Hop-on, Hop-off boat tour of the harbors and saved us $. Very clean. Big
tv room with DVDs available. Super bars-restaurants nearby. Food at The
Glenmore was really good with big screen tvs for sports.

Loved everything from the check in... The location... The venue itself and how clean it looked...
Absolutely will recommend Stratton hotel to everyone wanting to spend the night or longer in the city...
Will definitely book with Strattons Hotel again in the near future.... -

We were two young female backpackers and it was an experience we will
never forget....We liked the staff (pretty sure seeing them all dressed
like girls was probably why haha)...when we first arrived they offered
us free goon....mmmm...played some games ;p had a night out on the town
:) they showed us where to get pizza...great atmosphere... And o

Customer service was superb. Soraya at reception was especially helpful
and went out of her way to keep family in one room after I changed
booking at the last minute. Awesome location, next to central railway
and monorail.

Staff were amazing - Aimee was so helpful and friendly - she absolutely
made our stay at maze fantastic! All the staff were extremely helpful
and friendly - we had to most interaction with Aimee and loved her top-
notch customer service skills. We were two mature sisters who are young
at heart and she made us feel like we were 'one of the gang' -

Location is very good. Walking to distance to central station which allows you to travel to most of the place on Sydney. Airport to this hotel, take airport train to Central station then u will be here. Generally, this is a decent place and not fantastic but acceptable. However, even in cold weather the room is a bit warm, thus not so sure how warm the room would be during summer as the fan does not appear to be very helpful.

everything was excellent and would not look at any other hotel, next time I vist Sydney. 10 out 10 would recommend it to any one. - Good central location. Quiet at night. Helpful staff. Easy to get to and from the airport via the Museum stop.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly.
The location was really good and if you're feeling super lazy you can pay 44 dollars for a week long pass for all the public transport in the city centre.
The staff worked really hard to try and keep the place clean, shame that was ruined five minutes later by some disgustingly filthy people! -

I usually stay here when I visit Sydney. It's right in the heart of the CBD and very cheap. There are certainly more luxurious hostels, but you pay more for them. 790 is cheaper, whilst still being a decent place to stay - generally clean, comfortable (you know a good mattress is important when you're staying at a hostel!), and most of the staff a

The communal area was huge with free wifi and good sized kitchen, really nice roof terrace but would be even better if wifi was available up there, but then I suppose it would be packed every day! The staff were always friendly and happy to help with any concerns or questions. I will be back here if I'm ever in Sydney again!! -
