This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The gentleman at the front desk (guy from Tonga) very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and have whitel linens. My favourite hostel where I always stay in Sydney, probably stayed there for 2 months in total. Location is perfect, staff is friendly, rooms are good and clean in general. Scary Canary is downstares and that is one awesome bar! Always make some great friends when staying at X Base! -

The location was perfect really central and close to the main attractions.

Fabulous views of the city from the rooftop patio. Staff was extremely
helpful. They booked a trip to the Sydney Zoo for us that included the
Hop-on, Hop-off boat tour of the harbors and saved us $. Very clean. Big
tv room with DVDs available. Super bars-restaurants nearby. Food at The
Glenmore was really good with big screen tvs for sports.

and went out of her way to keep family in one room after I changed

Location is very good. Walking to distance to central station which allows you to travel to most of the place on Sydney. Airport to this hotel, take airport train to Central station then u will be here. Generally, this is a decent place and not fantastic but acceptable. However, even in cold weather the room is a bit warm, thus not so sure how warm the room would be during summer as the fan does not appear to be very helpful.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly.
The location was really good and if you're feeling super lazy you can pay 44 dollars for a week long pass for all the public transport in the city centre.
The staff worked really hard to try and keep the place clean, shame that was ruined five minutes later by some disgustingly filthy people! -

The communal area was huge with free wifi and good sized kitchen, really nice roof terrace but would be even better if wifi was available up there, but then I suppose it would be packed every day! The staff were always friendly and happy to help with any concerns or questions. I will be back here if I'm ever in Sydney again!! -
