  We liked everything at Pwllgwilym. When we arrived we were met by Richard and Jane who are the most delightful hosts. Richard was full of information, including some historical details. Jane just made us feel very welcome. Our room was very well appointed with a comfortable bed and views over fields and sheep. We were made to feel at home and that it was no trouble to ask them for anything! The breakfasts were excellent. The attention to detail and in meeting guests's needs in the room was far superior than most chain hotels and having a fridge in the room is such a brilliant idea that it should be adopted by all hotels!   Jess the owner was so friendly and welcoming we felt like friends rather than guests. On arrival there was a bottle of wine, cake and other goodies for us.   This is a very olde worlde Tudor timbered building with loads of character in a beautiful country setting. The very old door into our bedroom was about 5ft high, I am 6ft 3in but this only added to the interest and the on suite room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable with nice views from the windows.   The manager, Pedro, was great and especially kind when I got ill during my stay (nothing to do with them, I'm currently in hospital being treated for malaria after spending time in Tanzania). The breakfast - according to my husband - was excellent and the little village is lovely. The food was also exceptional - local produce with imaginative twists and beautifully cooked. The location is central in the village and the views of the surrounding hills are amazing.
