  From the welcoming tea and cake to a heartfelt goodbye from Tim, one of the two owners - more like hosts than proprietors - everything was first rate. The superior room we booked overlooked gardens and a park which we could view from the large windows or from the deck attached to the room. If going to the Lakes, forget about Windermere - We stayed in room 8 and it was just as amazing as the pictures we saw on here. Huge walk in shower and free standing bath tub. Very comfortable bed and astonishing view from the private balcony. Tim and his staff were very welcoming and attentive. Jake the dog was adorable.   Booked through letsbookhotel.com but on arrival we found out that letsbookhotel.com did not forward our details and therefore found that there were no rooms available. The owner and manager went out of his way to find us a local B&B for the first night and luckily had a delux room available for our second night.   The staff - totally professional and nothing was too much trouble, very obliging and went out of their way to give us the best possible experience. The facilities - top quality and very well designed. Excellent customer service - I found Lingwood Lodge to be very clean and comfortable, the owners/staff were very friendly which means allot when you are on your own, the room was excellent and the dining room and breakfast were very good indeed, I had stayed as a stopover on the way back from Scotland and I will certainly book another room there.   From the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends as opposed to guests. The hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility offering warm and very comfortable, quality interior accommodation . The menu and wine list is excellent, and the food served was high quality and very tasty.   Wonderful welcome and hospitality despite my very late unscheduled arrival. Beautifully clean and maintained rooms in a lovely location.   The setting is quiet and tranquil with only a short drive to other larger villages, the coast and mountains. The guesthouse was stunning, beautiful interior and very comfortable. Our room was lovely with incredible views overlooking the dramatic countryside. The home cooked breakfast was delicous! This was the one of the best beds we slept in while on our trip around England. Vince is a great host with good recommendations on what to do and how to get there. Shirley is an awesome cook and these were the best breakfasts we had in England. The location is very good - a 15 minute walk from the town so that we could enjoy wine with dinner and not worry about driving and there are lots of good restaurants in Bowness-on-Windemere - just ask Vince!

  The suite was everything the photos and description promised it to be. The location is incredible with all of Bowness shops, pubs and fantastic restaurants at your doorstep. Also the pier to where the boat trips to the other parts of Lake Windermere was only a few minutes walk away, this meant that a car was not required for our stay at all. Oh, and the bed was amazing! - Bowness Bay Suites has an excellent location in terms of proximity to the lakefront and restaurants. The suites are very spacious, tastefully decorated and offer all of the necessary amenities and more (including a fireplace). These features made our stay very comfortable.
