Location is perfect. They are installing tram lines in the street but it still has access if you are arriving by car or taxi. Its a short walk to Waverly Station and all main tourist attractions can be reached by foot if you like to walk.
Room was excellent, breakfast was great. Did not try the restaurant at night but menu looked good and fairly priced.
Staff were all very friendly and attentive.

We loved everything about the place hotel,the staff were lovely the food was really nice and reasonably priced along with the drinks from the bar.It has a very modern decor but expensive feel to it with gorgeous crystal chandeliers in bar and lounge area.It is very central with everything you need within walking distance like shops pubs and the castle.We had an excellent stay here and would recommend the place hotel to anyone in fact my boyfriends mam and sister have already made a booking! 150

Definitely best choice for Edinburgh. Have stayed at Balmoral 3 times already, and every time was an exceptionally pleasant experience. We paid the minimum and got the maximum in comfort with a freely given upgrade. The staff were very welcoming and were pleased that we were pleased. Location! Very easy to find from the train station. Elevator available (although it's soo slow). Free WiFi was very smooth (although only in the common area). Helpful staff, suggested me alternatives of transport and calling a cab for me. Comfy bed, love the comforter. Surprisingly the room is quite sound-proof from the noise from the street. Nice bathroom with handheld shower! Free map provided.

Vi anlände sent och blev uppgraderade på grund av att de vanliga dubbelrummen för icke rökare var slut. Detta blev ett lyckokast - men vad hade hänt om de inte hade kunnat uppgradera? - Bra läge centralt. Vänlig och tillmötesgående personal. Hade turen att kunna boka till ett gynnsamt pris. Ordinarie pris hade varit för dyrt!

The apartment space was luxurious, comfortable, very well thought out and utilised - with modern open-plan living in mind, balcony with fold back door to seamlessly bring the outside space in, serviced to a high standard daily; friendly and very helpful staff. Very central location at the 'Lawnmarket' on the 'Royal Mile' in the Old Town, in the shadow of the castle itself - great for sight- seeing most within a very short walking distance and only a short bus ride to others.
