  We stayed at the YMCA Christchurch, NZ during MAY 30 through JUNE 02. We found that the staff was extremely polite, ready to help with the problems, advise on sight-seeing and Parks, eateries and so on. New Zealand is a wonderful country, and the people are so congenial, understanding. This was perfectly reflected in the YMCA management as well... hva folk sier » ! They also helped us with wake-up calls and also booking of transportation. Good to see that the City is seriously involved in re-construction. I k - The room was clean and well presented - It was ideal for our overnight stay en route to our home. The Front-line Staff person was very friendly. There is a coffee bar and a restaurant on site - which is just as well as the decimation of the centre city means there isn't a shopping mall close by where one could get something to cook or eat. The proximity to the Bus depot (outside the Museum) suited us very well

  Everything about this B&B was just perfect. We felt so welcomed, and she showed us where to eat and where to go. A pity I forgot her name. The bed was comfortable. It was only a one night's stay and we were there from 5pm till only 4am the next day so we couldn't enjoy more. There is breakfast but we were too early. And they are very close to the punting on the Avon ($25 per person) which we did and really enjoyed. One of the few things that seems like the Christchurch of old.

  Location: great location, it’s right next to the Hagley Park so we had an extremely nice stroll in late afternoon. It’s 15 minutes walk to center but since there isn’t much to see in the center you might as well just enjoy being close to the park. Room: it’s a bit small but very clean and tidy with good décor. Decorated in lovely modern design. I loved the access to the courtyard and you didn't feel like you were in the middle of the city. The owner Des was incredibly accommodating and receptionist Yvette was lovely.
