  Excellent location, very very clean, friendly and helpful staff. The bed was really comfy and the blanket was huge. Did I mention the location was excellent? Because the location was excellent. The rooms were larger than I expected and clean. Beds very comfortable. You can't beat this location - it's right in the middle of everything. A bit difficult to find the check in - the entrance is actually on Abbeygate st, but you check in at La Salsa Restaurant (also owned by the guesthouse owners).

Lovely view of river, near river for walks. near car parks.   The staff were amazing, so friendly and really helpful running up to the weekend we were staying there. Eamonn was helpful and gave us good advice on where to in Galway. The rooms were spacious and clean, very comfortable and the location was excellent. It was just off Eyre Square so everything was a stones throw away. It was our only accommodation in Ireland that provided everything as promised, with a central location to boot. Chris and Eamonn at the front desk were both fantastically polite and helpful.

  We particularly appreciated the honesty and friendliness of our hosts, Don & Mary Deacy. Always helpful and still discrete enough as not to feel overwhelmed with unnecessary attention (which is a bless when you go to Galway, as they have some great pubs there and you do not want to be welcome by your host at 2 am, after a long row of pints...)... hva folk sier » .   Absolutely everything! I am a travel agent in Ireland, so I know what to expect and was not expecting a lot from a hostel. However, the reviews looked good and price was great. I was so impressed by the staff, the provision of towels, the location and most of all by the apartment that we stayed in. In Sleepzone, they can show you what to do in the city, recommend restaurants and pubs and sell you guided tours to other places nearby Galway. Besides, the common areas are very clean and organized, specially the kitchen. A very simple breakfast (bread, jam and juice/coffee) is included, but it was more than enough for us.

Unfortunately I can not remember the name of the lovely girl with blond hair and blue eyes who always welcomes everyone with a sincere smile, simpatia, good conversation, usefull tips and help where needed. Ni - I really enjoyed interacting with the staff. The staff are very, very helpful and accommadating. Many of the people staying at Barnacles were open and nice. It was very easy to make friends. Quay Street is a great location with many pubs and shops up and down the street. There is free music everynight in many of the pubs and some feature Irish/folk/dancing in them.
