  The room is inside a student residence and looked brand new. It was spacious with a nice bathroom and there was also a cooking area with kitchen utensils. There is a communal area on the ground floor where you can meet other travellers. The men on the reception were very friendly and helpful. The residence is situated in a mixed African/Arab neigh... wat mensen zeggen » bourhood, but it didn't seem unsafe. It is easy to walk to the Guggenheim from the residence and it is also close to Abando station. - Close to train station and old town. Lovely helpful man on reception that spoke English and gave us information. Also moved us to a different room on request. Free wifi. This place is uni halls of residence, so rooms are small with single beds, but you have bathroom with shower +clothes line over it, and little kithchen area with cooking hob, microwave and fridge. We really value the small things like being able to make a cup of tea when you want one.

  For the money, it was one of the most spacious and bright rooms I have had for the category. The criticisms that this place got was minor and I don't get it. One side of the room is floor to ceiling windows. Really light and bright. Clean and spacious for the price. Right in the Old Town close to bars and restaurants and you can walk everywhere. The outside of the pension has p** on it even though the name is - Location couldn't have been better, right in the old town. Staff were lovely, though English isn't really spoken they will do their best to communicate. Room was really nice. Breakfast isnt' fancy but it is adequate (Tea, coffee, toast, ceral and pastry) Entry is via buzzer only and you need to leave room key in reception when you leave.

  The rooms were clean and lockers were a good size, big enough for my 85L backpack. The laundry facilities were great (though having to wait 1 hour for the dryer to finish was a pain if you don't expect it). The shower was a good size with room to keep clothes inside (just bring a bag as there were no hooks).   First we were surprised that it was not a separate building, it is only one floor in a big building and the owners are living there. The room was small, but there was a bathroom inside, and was nicely furnished and clean! There were also shampoos and gel which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately we didn’t receive a room with balcony to the square, ... wat mensen zeggen » but we have to admit that we booked on the same day of arrival and it turned out to be more silence the room that we received. Beautiful bars and rest - We were on the Camino del Norte and Bilbao was our last stop on this segment . this pension is ideally located beside the Cathedral on the Old City and on the route forward. We intend to stay here again when we resume the Camino next year. The shopping districts and indeed the Guggenheim were only a short walk away (say 15 minutes to 25 minutes) while there was plenty of restaurants etc in the Old City. A very helpful and obliging host in this Pension.
