  The proprietor/manager, Eddie Stella, was extremely helpful and accomodating. He stayed up till 2am to check us in when we were driving up from Sevilla. The location of the apartments is absolutely the best in Madrid. It has onsite parking with direct elevator access to the apartments/rooms - a rarity with many apartments in Europe.   Hostal Mendoza is located in perfect place: next to the central street of Madrid - Gran Via and Puerta del Sol, where you can take the tourist- bus and travel all over the city. Our double-room on the second flour was always clean, the furniture and bathroom (with all the accessories) were new, we had even flat TV-set and the balcony. There was no... cosa dice la gente » breakfast, but it was not a problem for us, because there are a lot of cafes and restaurants next to Mendoza.Staff on reception was very kind and pos - The location is superb (if a little hard to find down a side street). Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to do everything to make our stay perfect. Was concerned a "hostal" might not be up to scratch but it was like any other 3 star accommodation. Room was large with fairly new ensuite and very comfy beds. There was nothing we didn't like and would definitely stay again.

  I can't fault the stay we had. Staff are uber friendly and very helpful. The location is brilliant and in walking distance to everything. The rooms have everything and include some great bonuses including free mini bar and real atmosphere from the pop art decor. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Thanks - The location is great.
