  The rooms were bright and clean and the hotel upgraded us to a Junior Suite because it was our wedding. They had some chocolate strawberries waiting for us in the room. The staff were always helpful and friendly in every way possible. Always. The rooms were very clean, with ample space. The breakfast buffet was really outstanding -- plenty of wonderful variety from which to choose. We felt very welcomed at all times here. That means a lot to us as travelers.   This apartment is perfectly placed at the end of the main shopping street in Reykjavik, however we were not troubled by noise at all. The apartment was very spacious for a group of three friends and it was tastefully decorated. We had more than the facilities that we needed as our homebase in Iceland. We were happy to find a washing machine in our apartment. The location is very good because it's at the street towards the main commercial area of Laugavegur. Parking was also available but on a first come first served basis. It made our trip to Iceland comfortable.

We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything.
