For the middle of nowhere, the setting is gorgeous. Beautiful view from our east-facing room, with our own door to the outside. Lots of surface area in the bathroom - a big plus in my book. Yes, the dinner buffet is expensive (like most food in Iceland), but if you're a meat-eater and you're hungry, you won't be disappointed. The roast lamb was delicious. So was the Icelandic meat soup and the marinated fish. Generous breakfast buffet included in room price.

The staff were extremely helpful and found us at breakfast to see if they could help us decide our trips. All very friendly and had plenty of time to help their customers.

- Cottages are in nice wooded area.
- Cozy cabin sleeps up to 4 but probably better for 2 people due to luggage space needed.

We stayed just one night in very cozy and quaint cabin. As we were arriving the front desk staff (I think the owners) let us know that outside we could currently see the northern lights. From the field right there they were visible, they then suggested a place to drive to (about 10 minutes away) to escape the light pollution of Selfoss and see them even better. It was truly a highlight of the trip. When we returned, they had filled up one of the two hot tubs for us, which we relaxed in unde

This hotel didn't look like much from the outside but was beautiful and comfortable on the inside. The staff were nice and helpful. The restaurant available to customers served very delicious food. Very friendly staff. The food at the restaurant was great and the proximity of Geirland to Kirkjubaejarklaustur was very convenient. The nearby waterfall and the "church floor" formation was nice as well. Great location for day trips to Skaftafell or Hofn.

We stayed in one of the rooms in the annexe which are really small cabins. The room was clean and comfortable with a small balcony where you could sit outside. The farm has a good restaurant with the added interest of a view of the cows n the barn. -

We enjoyed a lot: the hospitality of all the staff, the big house, the cottage, the horses!! We were given a really beautiful cottage even if we've booked a double room. We liked the warm welcome and the delicious dinner: very well prepared 'Ling' (fish) and a surprisingly tasty honey and ginger icecream dessert.
We appreciated the friendly service in helping us out with the bustimes and the interesting stories when showing us the photos of Eyjafjallajökul by Ragnar Sigurdsson. We surely recommend staying at Eldstó Guesthouse and if there is no need to stay at least try the tasteful food and bakery or visit the Gallery with ceramics.

The guesthouse was incredible!! We loved the location. It is situated in a very nice neighborhood that is conveniently located a block from the pool facilities. And the pool recreation center was incredible after spending the day hiking! The owners were wonderful to deal with, very helpful and accommodating. Definitely purchase the breakfast ~

This was the best place we stayed. It's absolutely amazing - the
guesthouse is immaculate, only a year old. The beds are so comfortable,
the room is simple and homey. The couple who own the guesthouse are the
most friendly people we met in Iceland, the gentleman who owns the place

A fantastic place to stay. The owner was an extremely friendly and helpful gentleman, and could not have helped us more. After we arrived, he showed us our room, then took the time to sit down with us and chat about our plans, and gave us recommendations on the best routes to drive and where to eat dinner etc.
The room itself was great - it was modern, clean, and comfortable. As previously mentioned, there was no in-room TV, but who cares?! If you are bored of your wife/husband/travel companio

Room was enormous. Hotel seems to be mostly used by bus tour groups. We ate late to avoid the crowds, though had to ask for some food to be re-stocked. Recommend the pizzas from shop at the rear of the hotel. -
