My partner and I stayed at Grimsborgir for three nights and we absolutely loved it. In fact, we wished we could have stayed for longer. My friend and I were upgraded as a very generous courtesy to a four-bedroom apartment with a private deck larger than my own home. It felt like a palace after the small rooms we'd been staying in for the previous week. The view was (is) beautiful, the apartment luxurious, and the staff professional and kind. On our final morning, we settled the account after breakfast and then stayed for as long as possible, reading and enjoying the quiet.

We enjoyed a lot: the hospitality of all the staff, the big house, the cottage, the horses!! We were given a really beautiful cottage even if we've booked a double room. We enjoyed the also the countryside, the riding was spectacular! Good the location for a lot of activities and attraction around Hella. I definetively reccomend Heistemar for 2 or

+ Although we didn't get the booked category (double room with private bathroom) the owner was flexible enough to offer us an alternative, a small discount and a 'free' horse ride to compensate for the discomfort

We went to this Hotel in Jun 2013 as a young couple and really liked the Hotel. The location is stunning, remote but right next to Golden Circle attractions and close enough to Reykjavik.
