Host greeted us on arrival, made to feel very welcome. Rooms were nice
and bathroom was lovely. Had all the top floor to our selves. Was close
to the centre and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was very nice,

Nikki and her children Miles and Alicia were the perfect hosts. We
stayed on the top floor and the rooms were perfect with a nice view from
the rooftop windows. Nikki made us a lovely breakfast and gave us a lot
of information and directions around the city of York. I would recommend
staying here and would love to come back for another visit one day.

A warm sincere greeting by the owners on arrival set the tone for our stay. Lovely room , well dressed and furnished.En-suite more than roomy enough and fit for purpose, which isn't always the case with guest houses we've used in the past. Location is peaceful, and in a nice area. Pleasant and friendly staff could not be more helpful, and the breakfast sets you up for the day, truly a treat!! Private parking at the back of the house (free), is a bonus. We both rate Ascot House as being as good

The Blakeny is a family run b@b,excelent value, spotlessly clean with a wondeful home cooked breakfast far more than one could possibly eat but irresistable. we chose tho stay here as we didn't want to be right in the middle of town. It' s a 25 minute walk to the Minster though there is a bus stop right outside if you want save your legs. The location was nice & quiet with hardly any traffic. The room was large, clean & comfy & there was plenty of nice food for breakfast. The hosts were friendly & helpful & were able to give us some really useful information. We will definitely stay there again when we return to york next year.

Very clean bedroom and bathroom the bedlinnen and towels were beautiful and white and the owners had obviously given much thought to the décor of not only the bedroom but the dining room as well. The cooked breakfast was freshly done and well presented, a really nice stay and we will be back -

A great location on Bootham Terrace. Only minutes from centre of York. The apartment contains all one would require for a stay. It was large enough for four persons without getting in each others way. Elevator to the apartment was a bonus and good security. The parking permit was well worth it as we left the car for three days as you will not need
