  This was our first trip to Edinburgh. We were hoping to book a hotel closer to the city centre, but as ours was a last minute booking, we were limited for choice. As it turned out, the Britannia was just perfect for us and we're now very pleased we chose it. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!

  We arrived early,really only wanted to drop cases off but was warmly greeted and allowed up to to our rooms. We had a knock a few mins later to check everything was in order. The whole establishment was spotless and all staff very friendly, would certainly stop again and recommend to others. Room was spacious and comfortable with all the facilities we needed for a short stay. Breakfast was decent and filling and at a reasonable time.   Staff were friendly on arrival and made everything very easy for myself and my partner even though it was a busy time with everyone checking in in time for Scotland Vs. Ireland at the 6 nations. Our room was ready on arrival and we couldn't have had a better room! We had an amazing sleep in the seriously comfy bed and woke up fresh - We (my husband and I) stayed in BB 3 nights. It was a very good experience. People here is very friendly and willing to help for anything. Our room is designed so amazing as Scotland style. It's also excellent with the price you pay. We strongly recommend visitors staying this beautiful and good -serviced BB.
