This was our first trip to Edinburgh.
We were hoping to book a hotel closer to the city centre, but as ours was a last minute booking, we were limited for choice.
As it turned out, the Britannia was just perfect for us and we're now very pleased we chose it.

The price was nice and the sleep was good: these are main criteria for a good stay. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!

We (my husband and I) stayed in BB 3 nights. It was a very good experience. People here is very friendly and willing to help for anything. Our room is designed so amazing as Scotland style. It's also excellent with the price you pay. We strongly recommend visitors staying this beautiful and good -serviced BB.

I like the brand new design for simplicity & comfort with excellent staff at the welcoming front desk. Every one at the check in or out counter has positive and helpful attitude towards guests from all over the world. Here I would like to pay special respect & thank them from the bottom of my heart. The location is fantastic, just 100 meters from Haymarket station and also easily accesible from the airport. Besides, the main attractions are also located within walking distance. No sweat!

The attention of the staff to make sure you were settled in.
The staff had put on the heating in the room in advance so it was lovely and warm.
I was leaving before breakfast started and they had laid out cereal and toast making facilities to use.
They have spent a lot of money on new carpets and upgrading bathrooms to make them clean and very fresh.
Very strong and secure wi-fi

My bedroom was spacious and the bed was really comfortable.
Location good - 5-7 mins walk to Princes Street and 10-15 mins walk to Royal Mile/castle.

Fabulous hotel. Staff were great, everybody was friendly and polite and went out of their way. Location is super, 2 minutes walk from haymarket station and 15 walk into Edinburgh city centre. Buses stopped outside the hotel to go to Princes street if you didn't fancy the walk. Food was good, we had breakfast and was lovely with lots to choose from. Didn't eat there otherwise but saw the food and it looked very nice. Rooms and beds clean and comfy. Great hotel.
