  My friends and I had a great time and we were even offered a free upgrade to an apartment next door that was incredibly spacious and a comfortable place to stay in for the weekend. - The manager is most helpful and friendly, the room is large and warm. Breakfast well prepared and presented.

  The Dene Guest House was the perfect choice. Not only I was provided with a clean, spacious and beautifully designed en-suite bedroom with great views but I had as well the valuable help of Ilio and Hamish in every possible aspect (from giving advice on how to spend leisure time to pointing me in the right direction whilst I was looking for a job ... ce que les gens disent » in the city). The owners are extremely friendly yet never intrusive or insistent. I am already planning to go back soon! - Perfect location, close to centre of town. Received a very warm welcome, lovely people running the bed and breakfast in a relaxed, efficient way, they couldn`t have been more helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and had all I needed, the house itself is a beautiful old Edinburgh town house. Fantastic breakfast and I look forward to staying again for my next great night out in the big Toun!

  We arrived with our son who is wheelchair bound , and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. She even sent his breakfast up to him on a tray!!! FANTASTIC....The building couldnt have been more central!! All in all, a fantastic budget place to stay in Edinburgh. She greeted us warmly and seemed genuinely interested in what we were doing each day and how we were enjoying Scotland. Also, her breakfast was great and always waiting.   the warmth and helpfulness of the managers kay and kenny the rooms were clean and tidy breakfasts were good to we would go again and recommend to friends and family overall we had a great weekend - The patron was very welcoming and worked hard to solve all my problems and concerns.

  All our stay was perfect. The bedroom was just like the one in the pictures. Very clean and comfy. Great double bed. Perfect with tea/coffee/chocolate facilities in the room. Double glass window. Dark and thick curtain to get the room dark at night. The road workers arrived around 7.30 in the morning but we were already preparing us for breakfast (monday to frida - The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. We were greeted on arrival in a friendly way and shown our very clean and spacious room, with bathroom ensuite. Our host offered an excellent recommendation for a pub for dinner. The morning breakfast is very hearty and very delicious and the breakfast room is very prett
