The staff was excellent especially Claudia-who was exceedingly helpful
in finding a tour for us to the Highlands and Loch Ness last minute. The
tour left very early and she arranged for an early breakfast even though
they weren't open for breakfast yet. Very pleased with its location

Friendly staff & room (No,10) was clean, bright & comfortable with nice touches to enhance its ambience (sweets, tea/coffee & cushions on the bed). Room overlooked a shrubbery & had benefit of afternoon sun.Bathroom was excellent. Good choice at breakfast. Good location within walking distance from shopping area & restaurants. Would use again & would recommend

Relaxed atmosphere in sumptuous surroundings. - As before, the quiet atmosphere, the cleaniness, comfort and specification level of the rooms and the unobtrusively efficient service. It is also in an ideal situation for walking to and about Edinburgh. The parking area is a bonus.

To keep it in a nutshell - everything! We stayed in the triple room (Nr. 1) which is to the rear side of the building with garden view and very quiet. We left the window open all night. The room is equipped with a fridge, microwave, TV, etc. and tastefully decorated to the highest standard. The breakfast is superb and offers a wide range of choice

Dave and Susan were the nicest couple, who made you feel friendly and at home in their beautiful Georgian style B&B in the city centre of Edinburgh. The B&B is conveniently located; it's a 25 minutes walk to the Royal Mile or a bus ride of 5 minutes. The breakfast was exceptionally well organised with lots of fresh fruits, croissants, yoghurts and cereals, and many different sorts of baked goods.
I would recommend this B&B to everyone and if we return to Edinburgh, we will definitel

Lovely quiet setting in tree lined street with excellent bus access to city, also within walking distance. Welcoming owners who provided us with a very comfortable, airy and tastefully decorated bedroom and en suite looking out onto mature trees. This is a magnifcent place to stay, clean friendly spacious, comfy bed, huge bath, ( that ran out of hot water) however is in a great location 5 mins drive from the centre, quiet relaxing and all round a fantastic place to stay and would highly recommend it

The 23 Mayfield was a total delight! The staff was amazing - everyone seemed like genuinely nice people and happy to help. The hotel owner even gave us an excellent advice what to do and see further in Scotland and let us leave our car in their not so big car park even thought we stayed for only one night. Our breakfast was a real gourmet treat. O

Ross was a very welcoming and relaxed host. He provided us with some good recommendation for locations to visit whilst in Scotland. Breakfast was a gourmet experience with a great range for vegetarians (i had the Campbell's vegetarian haggis both mornings). Room was tastefully decorated and a good size. We enjoyed a cold beer in the oudoor room, which was just what we needed after a full days travel.

This is a family guesthouse, and that explains why you feel so much at home there. The floor cover, design and dining room all make you feel a special guest. Breakfasts icluded, wifi is free. And fast. Plus a relatively close distance from the center - that's the best investment for a young couple, friends or a solo traveller who want to enjoy Edinburgh in any time of year.
