The staff were superb. Everyone, from the people on the desk to the cleaning staff to the people in the restaurant at breakfast time were polite, helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcome without being 'in your face'. The breakfasts were very impressive with a great choice of fresh, delicious food and coffee made to order. The fresh fruit platter was an unexpected, very appreciated highlight on arrival. Room service meal was soooooo tasty and everyone was lovely there. I liked the fact that they had a system in place that allowed guests to use the same towels if they wanted to in order to save water which is great. What I would have also liked to see is a recycle bin in our room so we can put our aluminium, paper, cardboard, plastic and glass.

The staff were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for you. The
room was spacious and very well appointed. They location would be
great if you had plans at one of the sporting venues and although you
were 2 blocks from the North/South tram routes, there were
East/West trams running one street either side of the hotel.

Amazing staff, especially concierge who always greeted us warmly and helped us with our twins. Very accommodating and sympathetic to our needs for our 6 month old babies. Well furnished rooms/suites for amazing value. Best location - just around the corner from flinders lane where lots of good restaurants / cafes located. One of the best experiences I've had at a hotel - particularly for the price we paid!

This was our second stay at the Grand Hotel Melbourne and we were warmly greeted upon arrival. The staff are always very friendly and eager to help were possible. This hotel suited us exactly it had all we needed for a short 3 day stay in Melbourne. Close to shops theatre, art centre Fedration Square and public transport. Bed was comforable, room clean and fresh, bathroom was new with good shower and loads of hot water. The cost of a three night stay was incredably inexpensive for its central city position. Not a luxury hotel if you want spa baths etc. but most definitely a good quality hotel for travellers who want a bit more than backpacker budget hot
