  Staff at reception were welcoming and friendly, asking room preference when checking in as to what floor I preferred. This was much appreciated as had only just become aware hotel located on busy road/roundabout. Twin room was spacious and clean and for a 3* rating, well appointed.   We missed the breakfast and the staff was kind enough to prepare our breakfast almost at lunch time. The wedding we came to attend was at 1300 and the check in time at 1400, but the hotel staff was very nice and let us into the room earlier so we could dress for the wedding. The price was very reasonable and it was the only hotel in the area, which offer - Friendly atmosphere but staff did not intrude. The bar at the Hotel was popular with the locals who again were friendly but not intrusive. It was good to see a lively bar at this time with so many places closing. Close to various ancient monuments, white horses and Avebury. Good centre for walking and seeing the Wiltshire countryside. We went for the standard double which was fine for us.I think the more expensive rooms had spa baths but we preferred to save our money - it is good to have the

  I stayed in the hottest part of 2013 and my room in the attic was very hot and with the windows open very noisy. However, the hotel had done their best and I had an excellent electric fan and there were even ear plugs available. At any other time of year I would have enjoyed it but the hot weather was hardly the hotel's fault.   The room was lovely with plenty of space, great view and nice bathroom with an excellent shower.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.   Best clean and homely environment while retaining the willingness of the building. We were made very welcome upon arrival and found everybody concerned to be friendly, cheerful and excellent hosts. Breakfast was delicious with full English and the addition of details, fruit and yoghurt. The service was great with offers of more tea and toast. Only... mitä ihmiset sanovat » spent one day and night but felt very comfortable and valued as a guest. - The position is just a short canal side walk to the city centre, so is great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and they have onsite parking. It is positioned on the corner of a busy road so entry and exit can be tricky. My room was on the front looking over the road, so there was traffic noise which tapered off into the evening. Despite that I slept soundly. I would certainly stay there again.
