Staff were excellent from check in to check out. More like a 5 star approach. Hotel is in a good location for most NYC attractions. Clean and warm, the room was very nice overlooking Madison Avenue. It all worked. Great staff, helpful in every way without being intrusive. Wonderful location on Madison Avenue at 29th Street. The Empire Suite, while a bit pricey, was roomy and comfortable.

Room was large and bathroom as well. Lovely details like thick moldings. Very quiet. Beds very comfortable. hallways very lovely beautiful marble - lobby impressive. It was elegant and affordable. Was in the middle of everything we wanted to visit. Would recommend to anyone. Staff were very friendly and welcoming with great local knowledge. Very friendly staff at check-in Lobby jazz singer Ipod deck. Very nice staff, well maintained hotel. Staff professional and accommodating. Excellent location. Helpful stuff. Room was attractive. Everything. location: quite, but not far from Empire and Macy's. Must say the room service breakfast was a bit on the pricey side at $55 for a serving of fruits and hot oats with tea. I went to Starbucks instead after that. "View of the Empire State Building" was technically true, but from the second floor, we had to get very close to the window and look up to see the ESB. The Wifi was usually slow. Room needed a paint job - carpet needed a refresh - kind of dull. Room smelled stale - throw pillows on beds are pretty, but to me, signify germs of prior occupants. Room seemed slightly tired - but lovely overall. Gym was a slightly smaller than expected, but would probably fine for the average gym go-er. Cleaning staff knocking at my door for check-out at 12:00 exactly, although the Do Not Disturb sign was there. The key did nto wrok while checking in. Ordered ice that never came; the rooms were on the small side. Room was extremely small. Definitely should be paid more attention to room cleaning. Stupidly complicated typical hotel tv. Maintenance was poor. Sink drain not connected, Stopper had black mold on the inside. Safety lock on wall but had been removed from door and badly patched. Marble ridge enterikng bathroom could cut feet, especially at night. staff.
