The service was amazing - old-school I'd say. Everyone was committed to make our stay the best. Always with a smile - from reception to housekeeping. Reception staff was especially lovely, happy to meet even our most complicated needs. Doing business, we were often in the lobby for meetings, where we were made to feel so welcome it was hard to leave. (the bloody maries by the way were fantastic). Rooms clean, comfortable, quiet. It felt like home - we will definitely return.
all reviews » The location to shopping and attractions such as Time Square, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center as well as the ease of access to many subway lines going straight downtown. The concierge service was outstanding and all recommendations were on spot. The entry and lobby were beautiful and spotless. the room is clean, friendly staff, calm environment, i like the window panel! very close to rockefeller and time square i had fun with friends in new york. Fine size rooms and great value in a perfect location. Staff extremely helpful. Would highly recommend it as a place to stay. Good location, very close to Rockefeller center. However, they look like they have been there a while and ignored. the elevator it is too small, kinda pricy for the room and internet services on 2nd floor they need headset. Building is quite old and not very well maintained, especially the rooms. For that price and the number of stars, you might expect a higher level. Bit on the expensive side for what it is. Receptionist did not smile Elevator was crowded. Very disappointed, I wanted to sign up for marriott membership but was advised they would not be able to apply my current stay to my menbership. You had to wait elevators for a quite long time. mattress was not comfortable. People residing next to our room played loud music until late and talked very loud, did not let us sleep well. The conciere was very slow and particularly in the evening backed up as people tried to get last minutes tickets. They need an overflow helper. rooms are quite dark, bathroom very small. The price. We had a suite and the sofa bed was very uncomfortable which was dissapointing as would expect all beds to be of the same standard as paid for 5 people to sleep. Should be two bathrooms for a suite. The waitress in the bar was unbelievebly rude which was annoying. Very noisy air condition at the room. There was no bathrobe neither slippers. square pillows which was too short and gave us neck ache whenever we turn on our sides, even though extra pillows was used. - we were told by reception that the private cab service to the airport was $65 per trip including tips- but the driver charged us $10 more and refused to return us the right change. we paid up as it was just $10/- But that's dishonest and will mar your hotel's name if you keep using them. Had to pay for WiFi in room - nearly 17 dollars a night. No microwave. Room was much smaller than it looked online. Room service was extortionately expensive. Many tv channels didn't have reception. The shower was set so low that anyone over 5ft 8" would have to crouch to get their hair wet under it. The concierge didn't help a lot and several times no one was available there and don't have many infirmation about activities or to explain things in good way.
