Had a wonderful time over the weekend, really nice guest house, run by very nice people.helps me and my girlfriend have a really nce valentines weekend. =]. i loved the room, it had lovely decor and was a great size!. Was nice and queit. Very nice accommodations and was treated very nicely. The location is convenient to York University.Very friendly staff. The room was fantastic,really comfortable and wellpresented. The breakfast was very nice with a good selection. I woulduse this hotel again. all reviews »
Room was nice and owner was very hospitable also the bandb was reasonablycentrally located for york city centre. Very helpfull and friendly owner. Comfortable room. The breakfast was lovely and was a selection. It was a very friendly place to stay . The bedroom was very comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent. It was so near to York that we were able to leave the car behind and use Public Transport which was very close . rooms very clean, staff very helpful, fresh breakfast.It was in the perfect location for our needs, the room was very clean and we had a beautiful breakfast in the morning. I thought our hostess was lovely and very accommodating.The rooms were homely and the breakfast was good. The main lady who runs it was friendly to speak to. good romm, good forniture. Friendly people, nice roomand breakfast. It was a fair walk to york city centre but the public transport was goodso this was not a major problem.room not exactly what we were expecting bed was a bit small. It wasn't as clean as I would have liked and the room was smaller than i thought it would be.We arrived early and it was made quite clear that this was an inconvenience. Also we weren't impressed by the fact that when my boyfriend went to ask for more milk he could hear them moaning when he knocked the door and was told there was plenty of milk in the room. There was some but it said in the 'welcome book' to feel free to ask for more. We didn't feel comfortable asking for anything else. personal so cold. Don't feel the accommodation would have been worth the full price of £89/night. Even at discounted price was pushing it a little. was very much an old fashioned BandB where you are either out or in your room. No other facilities such as a comunal lounge. Was also further out of city than expected.

The Hollies is situated on the A19 road (York - Selby); the main approach to the city from the South.
From the South:
- Using the A1(M), take the A64 to York, then the A19.
- Approaching the city, we are 100 metres past the 3rd set of traffic lights on the right-hand side of the road.
From the North:
- Using the A1(M) take the A59 to York.
- At the A1237, turn right.
- At the A64, turn left and drive for 2 miles.
- At the A19, follow directions as above.
