This is my second return to this hotel and I shall return time and time again. Nothing is too much trouble for the hotel staff, I have had super room each time I have visited and the food is Michelin star quality. Superb and highly recommended. Everything. The room was massive and well kept. The bathroom was modern with a great shower. Very good little kitchenette even though we never used it. Good idea for people staying for a longer trip.

This is a small hotel , but the owners had gone to some trouble to include small services which make such a differenc , for example coffee supply was generous ( not the ususal two sachets per person ) and bathroom toiletries very good ( for example personal toothbrush and toothepaste provided ). Breakfast service was very accomadating especially with my young daughter.Welcoming staff, great location, clean and spacious rooms. Poor bathroom layout.Built in kitchen unit took up unnecessary space. the only thing i didnt like was the noise of otherguests. also the bathroom was on the small side. Room was much too small. En-suite was almost unusable because of thelack of space. Eg shower cubicle was almost inaccessible!. Rooms small and ensuite even smaller. Breakfast was too late.pulldown bed very noisy should have been king size. No hot water in the evening. The bathroom was very, very tiny and the breakfast was disappointing because I'd heard good things about the food. Not applicable. The small rooms. Double bed unit. We booked 2 double deluxe rooms and only one had a wardrobe in. Had difficulty finding the kettle, No bin in the room,. This hotel is undoubtedly 'tired'. Overall decor, tiles missing form the lounge fireplace. Does not resemble the description , at all, as detailed in the hotel 'Welcome Pack'. Beer barrels by the main entrance. Be prepared to pay as soon as you arrive instead of departure, which I would consider normal - clearly they have had bad experiences. NB though as stated above the staff were A+. bathrooms were the size of a cupboard!. Not sure it was worthy its 4 stars in terms of quality. Bar and resident facilities are very limited . It makes the Hotel almostlike a bed and breakfast . I did have higher expectations of this Hotelafter reading through the reviews prior to my stay. The creeking floorboards, the hard bed, the damp ensuite. Worst English Breakfast ever!-Shower leaked--Trouser press didn't work!.
