What people say
A wonderful visit (FlyBe Belfast to Exeter) to a most beautiful region. The hotel in all aspects was excellent, staff courteous, good manners, attentive and good at their jobs. The buffet breakfasts over threemornings were a delight. Top marks. We will return to the Westcliff. Thedeep pebble carpark surface was the only slight niggle. The front wheelsof the car dug in too deep on occasions. A minor hiccup. all reviews »
The staff were extremely good and nothing was too much trouble for them - due to staff shortages they were all multi-tasking but the good service was not lost. We particularly liked the head waiter/operations manager who always had a lovely smile and curteous manner for young and old alike. We loved our room that had a double aspect with far reaching views - totally delightful.Me and my partner found the staff extremely inviting and more importantly, sincere with there attention to our needs. The room was clean the view fantastic and the price was spot on. Even the food was of first class atandard, in summary well worth the money. Stuart and Diane. The welcome and service was friendly and very good.We enjoyed our stay immensely as there was a relaxing and happy atmosphere comfortable accomodation and delicious food. Thank-you to all the staff. We hope to return. We had a fantastic and unexpected sea view, as we only booked a basic room. The breakfast was excellent and the waiters most attentive. The quality of the superior room with balcony was very good with fine sea views. The meal had in the hotel restaurant on the second night of our stay, whilst pricey, was in fact extremely good quality and the service excellent. The lounge and bar was very comfortable and spacious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent - a good choice of cooked meals. The room had a superb view of Sidmouth and the coast, and a large balcony which would have been delightful to use had the weather been better!. very comfortable, excellent service, very relaxing. All staff very obliging. Room excellent, had a balcony and sea view which we did not expect as we had booked at the last minute. ideally situated for local shops etc.Idealy located on the coast. Good size double room. Good bathroom, obviously recently upgraded. Very well maintained Hotel. Very nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. We had a beautiful sea view, the room was very comfortable and we were made welcome as soon as we arrived. The hotel staff make you feel very comfortable and nothing is too much trouble without being intrusive. Excellent and attentive service, great location just minutes from Sidmouth centre. No complaints. Convenient for the town very pleasant surroundings elegant classical hotel. Pleasant staff and good service. Fantatstic view from the bedroom.very comfortable and clean. The evening meal was excellent. Good Service, quiet and relaxing. Shared areas are light and comfortable, the staff are attentive and the bedrooms are well presented and of a good size. Attentive and professional staff - who seemed to know us without needing our room key as proof! Excellent cuisine, too.Comfortable bedroom. Friendly staff. Good position near seafront. The view from our room and the staff were very nice. Excellent food and location. Highly recommended. Position of Hotel. Nice and quiet and Friendly. Aireness of te rooms superb views. The staff where very helpfull. The restaurant and lounge bar. View from window and balcony. The hotel is in a lovely position. It perhaps needs some updating however it was good value at the discounted rate we paid. The staff were very courteous and discreet. The room was very comfortable and warm. I would recommend it and definitely stay again. Excellent location, superb views, we were very impressed with the friendliness of all the staff.Views from balcony, gentle staff, no piped music, spacious. Pleasant waiters and very good restaurant. Clean, Bright, good attitude of staff. This a very nice hotel in a good location along promenade, lovely views. The swimming pool was heated to 30C it was like swimming in a warm bath, our children loved it.Our rooms were clean and plenty of hot water.Service very courteous and attentive, little touches made the stay special e.g coffee always comes with hot milk, petit fours delicious and toilet rolls always folded into pointy angles!. Friendly service. Reasonable but rather dated bedroom and balcony with splendid sea view. Excellent position with well heated outdoor pool. Quiet, very comfortable, very pleasant accommodating staff. A comfortable hotel with pleasant staff and rooms. Lovely warm rooms, beautifully appointed (carpets, Furniture etc.) Stafffriendly and helpful. The view from our ropm was lovely and the breakfast was excellent. Relaxed and friendly nature of staff. The room was bright and clean. Good room helpfull staff. After a large function on the Saturday there were a quantity of cigarette butts left in the flower tubs each side of the entrance door and a glass - we left on the Monday morning and these still had not been cleared away. We assumed that there had not been a member of staff detailed to check on this during the weekend. The small reception area was less conspicuous than in most hotels. We couldn't book an evening meal on the Saturday because of a large Rotary Club do.rather a rabbit warren! you cant change that layout though, as it is the nature of the building. UHT milk in the rooms!. lift shaft was behind our room so when used you could here workings. Didn't expect VAT charge to be added to room rate quoted. The small size of the TV in the bedroom. Car parking was only just adequate - but this is a minor point.Shower was feeble and I hate shower curtains. Aweful fan in the bedroom ceiling, no air con. Old style room. Bed too hard for me/us.Lack of evening entertainment. Particular room was nice but noisy. Thin walls (could hear next door flush toilet and conversation, and lift was noisy). Poor en suite bathroom. Dated and with no extractor or ventilation. Car park surface not easy to walk on or drive on. Looking mirrors inroom not placed high enough (anybody over 5ft 8" needs to stoop to usethem. Computer facilities not currently working. The hotel was too warm and I felt was overpriced in value. The evening meals were very expensive.
