The room we had was of very high stardard indeed, the night porter could not help us enough, Very Friendly warm welcome Excellent, Excellent. we love the hotel, the staff, the rooms and the setting are excellent but most of all we love the restaurant the food is amazing. The 'superior' room was excellent. Large, well appointed and comfortable. Very good bathroom and shower. Ease of parking, comfortable room and excellent restaurant facilities. The room was amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Its set in the country but only 5 mins from the city centre.lovely room, beautiful setting. the views around the hotel. The food was excellent. The building, our room, and the staff and management with whom we came into contact were all first-class. The hotel delivers what it offers.Great staff and a fantastic restaurant. Everything......other than 'sleeping'. excellent. Courtesy of staff. Cleanliness of room and standard of fittings. General appearance of hotel and grounds. Excellent breakfast (charged extra).Easy to find, great welcome, Excellent evening meal, beautiful spacious room. Will visit again. Colwick Hall Hotel was friendly and welcoming. The area was quiet and relaxing. We thought the hotel was both lovely and excellent. Closeness to event that we were attending. staff were first rate. Very grand Hotel. Lovely entrance and outstanding food...really outstanding!!. Lovely decor. A beautiful hotel in a peaceful position with easy access to Nottingham Wonderful reception areas. The staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast a very elegant affair!. The location, the decor of the building and the size ofthe rooms and the plasma TV. The evening meal was also excellent, my firt experience of Malaysian cuisine. a very nice hotel though I would select a superior room next time as these looked even bette valuer staff helpful and pleasant. hotel very nice and staff friendly and professional, room excellent and spacious. Room and general surroundings of the hotel (lake etc) are excellent. Lovely hotel, really nice staff, very clean, Great Building both inside and outside. Excellent room at a very good price, good breakfast. nice surroundings, interesting building,. Only there a very short time but it had a friendly atmosphere and good dining room.In a lovely park. Very good surroundings, quiet, close to where we wanted to be. peaceful location. The setting of the hotel and the view of the lake is lovely. The style and design of the hotel was a modern and attractive interpretation of an old building. There was a wedding in a marquee to the rear of the hotel that was very noisey and went on quite late. The hotel staff couldn;t have been more helpful and moved me to a room at the front which was much better, but it would have been preferable to be in there in the first place rather than have me move at 11pm!. The higher you got in the hotel the warmer it got. The fan in our roomwas very noisy.the mattress and pillows were so hard we could not sleep......such a shame as everything esle was brilliant!. It was unfortunate that no maintenance staff were available to fix a bulb in the lobby outside our room. This meant trying to insert the keycard into both the lock and internal switch in the dark. This is also potentially dangerous. We did mention it on arrival but nothing happened. The pillows were amongst the most uncomfortable I've experienced anywhere and I travel widely on business.Room was very hot and had to put the fan on all night, other than that no complaints. Our only complaint was regarding the booking in procedure and the£200.00 security deposit taken form the card. If we had not arrived witha card to cover this amount, it would have been highly embarassing. Thisshould have been clearly advertised and bearing in mind we were stayingas part of the wedding party, could have perhaps been waived in thiscirmcustance. No airconditioning in room. the food was poor. Some of the decor a bit lacking in taste. The room was extremly hot and when we opened the window we smelled garbage. Must have been above the kitchen. The bedroom smelt of stale smoke and had stained carpets but large and attractive and otherwise very clean, Only Malaysian food in the restaurant. Noisy wedding reception might bother some but finished 23.00. Bathroom coluld have been cleaned better.no lift was not aware of this before arrival and my husband does have a problem sometimes with stairs but it was not an isue and we would use this hotel again. only half a toilet roll in room, had to order more, carpets stained and had peanuts on floor inbetween bed and cabine, radiators poor, all switched off, one radiator and towel rail unusable due to broken valves and only got other two working as i am a central heating engineer and knew how to get them working. very limited selection of food in the continental breakfast selection. No meats, cheese etc available unless asked for and then the choice was poor. I would normally expect a much wider choice for the price charged (over £8). The bar area in the evening and the restaraunt in the morning were not well heated and were therefore quite cold.Evening meal was very disappointing. 'buffet' -defined as a meal at which people serve themselves from various dishes set out on a serving counter or table- breakfast is not ! we sat at a table and were asked by a waitress what we wanted from a list. Quite expensive £8.50 for a non-buffet continental breakfast. Room was very warm and due to the age of the building, no view from the room. party was finished in the early hours of the morning. The food was different to what we were expecting in the restaurant although well presented was a little too spicey for our taste which spoilt the experience a little. Good to see a vegetarian menu. food very poor. The walls were paper thin without adequate soundproofing. We were on the 2nd floor which is effectively in the attic. The room had only a tiny window which had no view and was extremely dark and hot. We asked to be moved which the hotel did, and were extremely polite about, however all the available rooms were the same.
