We like our stay at Geckos Rest,from the moment we got no the car park,John was there to help with luggage.They explain where best to go and the place they enjoy dinning.They lend us an iron which was not in the package and even save us from having take away on my wife birthday after she lost a button from the middle of her dress.Well done to Amy for doing her research because she had a sewing kit ready with every colour thread to fix this button and any other mending issues.The room was clean .
all reviews » Genuinely the best guest house we've ever stayed in. Excellent location, easy walk to newquay centre, fistral beach or other beaches. Accommodation is modern, very clean and lacks nothing. Breakfast was to the standard of any five star hotel that we've stayed in. The owners are very pleasant and cannot do enough to please. Even our teens enjoyed it here, the modern living room has Wii and Xbox , its all just very well thought out. We will be booking again. The rooms with sea views are worth a s. Convenience – to the seafront and getting in and out of town Comfortable and clean--rooms and facility and great views Conversations—B&B owners enjoyed lively interaction with guests Choices –variety of breakfast combinations (We had fun comparing Gecko's Rest to our hometown Arizona with its 5 C’s.) The room and whole hotel was very very clean with the towels and bedding smelling of fresh washing. We would highly recommend Geckos Rest to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Newquay. We would definitely stay here again. On our two week road trip around England this was by far our favourite destination and best accommodation. The room was recently renovated and beautiful, the breakfast every day was freshly cooked to order and John and Amy's service was above and beyond expectations. We will be recommending friends to stay and will definitely return when next in the UK. We couldn't fault a single thing about Gecko's Rest. We had a superior room on the top floor with brilliant sea views. The finish to the room was more like a hotel than a B&B. Food was fantastic and Amy & John were great hosts. The owners where extremely helpful and very nice, double room was very nice all modern decor with wifi. Would def recommend and would stop again on our next visit. Loved the place, local for site seeing etc. We even revieved a text to say our room was ready 2 hours before we arrived, what a great service. Had 3 nights, we should have booked the week. The couple who run this B&B have got everything right - the beds were comfy, the room was decorated to a high standard, the sea view was stunning, the breakfast was perfect (probably the best veggie fry-up in England!) And the couple were very welcoming and helpful. We shall definitely be back and have already recommended to our friends. Amy and John were great hosts and couldn't have done anything more for us than what they did. The breakfasts really filled you up for the whole day and the room had a lovely sea view for us to wake up too. We would highly recommend Gecko's Rest and when back in Newquay we would stay again. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept very well. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the full English was well cooked and presented. Everything about this bed + breakfast was perfect. Amy and John are a really nice couple who go the extra mile to make your stay the best possible. That our stay wasn't longer :( Oh well, work beckons !. Car parking is a little difficult in the peak of summer. If you can find fault with this place you need to have a good hard look at yourself!. Nothing, everything was great. Fantastic value lovely place. Nothing. The location was not wonderful - but the Guest House was such good value it would be fine to travel out from all around Cornwall. The bathroom was a bit small with no bath. Shower took always a bit long to have hot water... But it got there in the end! :). N/a. Only one problem and its minor , water pressure very poor ,probably because we were on top floor . En suit very small but absolutely fine for our needs. N/A. On a personal note I would have preferred a bath but coped fine with the shower. I would have liked a small chair in the room to sit on. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing to dislike!. Tinted bathwater.... It took a long time for the hot water I.e. shower. To heat up. The toilet area could be a little bit more sound proof. The cooked breakfast was of poor quality. Breakfast only served between 815 and 915. There was absolutely nothing to dislike. Shower room a bit neat if you are on a bit bigger, perfect if you are "normal" size.
